how to use the vista gadget?
Put all the files in one folder called what ever you want, then drag that folder into
program files: windows side bar: gadgets
I had to pull out of the folder and into Program Files> Windows Sidebar> Gadgets before it would work for me… but nao id iz sooo nize n shynee.
I’v done that and now it just says, “plz wait” and does nothing….?!

I can’t get the vista gadget to work. I put the .gadget file in the sidebar/gadget folder. I can open up the gadget, but no pics are displayed.

Hey, i tried the vista gadget, i put the Cheezburger.Gadget Folder in the Windows Sidebar\Gadgets Folder but i still can’t select it in the sidebar menu. I’m from Germany so my Vista is German does that matter? how can i make it work? thx for reply
Hi Party, I’m from Holland and had the same problem.
There is a folder inside the Cheezburger.Gadget folder named “en-US”.
I had to change the name into “nl-NL”, seems to mee you have to change it too.
Check another folder in your widgetfolder to get the right name.

Watch out for those with 64bit Vista! I sat there for several hours trying to figure it out, nothing worked.. Then I realized. I had copied all into the Program Files (x86)/sidebar blablabla, and not the Program Files/sidebar blablabla. Solved everything
So where do you copy the Cheezburger.Gadget file? into the Program Files folder or both the non-(x86) and the (x86) folder? i haz 64 bit vista.

bobisacow’s instructions work perfectly so peeps with any probs just follow those. It worked a treat for me. I think you need to make sure you copy and paste the cheeseburger folder, not the folder which contains the cheeseburger folder, if that makes sense

I’ve been wanting a ICHC widget for the longest time so I’m so glad I noticed your widgets section finally. I would like to request though the ability to resize the widget window (at least for the Yahoo! Widget) so that the pictures are easier to see.

The iPhone page at http://icanlol.com/iphone/ seems to be having issues. The left hand frame on how to make lolz has been appearing at the top of the list, which doesn’t seem to be quite right. Is there any quick fix that can be made for this? Thank you very much.
Also, is there any actual iPhone App in the works for icanhascheezburger? There is much want for one in the App Store, as the knock off one only trolls Flickr for images tagged lolcat, which often leads to very do not want results. Perhaps an App that would work across your growing portfolio of sites that give much funny to the world wouldn’t be too hard? Then again, I have no idea how easy or hard the iPhone SDK is. Just a couple ideas… Or, as a better idea, make a free iPhone App for each page that only works with that page and a $2.99 or so combo App for all the pages. I know I’d pay that much, and I bet others would too.

I went into the code and managed to find the location of the list of images:

so I copied-paste the gadget for vista and edited the code and now I also have the “I can has a Hotdog?” gadget. whee fun.
If you want the Hotdog gadget just follow these instructions:

1) goto “C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets”
2) make a copy of “cheezburger.gadget” (must have cheezburger gadget installed first)
3) rename “cheezburger.gadget – Copy of” to “hotdog.gadget”
4) goto “C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\hotdog.gadget\Scripts”
5) right click on “cheezburger.js”
6) select open with…
7) open with notepad

21) you should see two “I can has cheezburger” logos, but you need to add the “I can has a Hotdog” subtitle

I have to say as a fan of “LOLcats” I was very pleased indeed with the findings of such an application to run on my Personal Computer system, and I give my greatest gratitude towards this site and all it’s intelligent supporters.
