VIDEO: Tiny Kitten Fitted With a Prosthetic Leg
The kitten featured in the video above, Braveheart, and his sister became separated from their mother after they got tangled in a thorn bush. A passerby found them and brought them to the Almost Home Cat Shelter in Westminster, Colo. Braveheart’s umbilical cord was wrapped so tightly around his feet that blood was cut off from reaching his paws, which had to be amputated. Though he needs another surgery (and possibly another prosthetic leg), he is healing and will soon be up for adoption.
Braveheart is an adorable little kitteh! We hope the remainder of his recovery is speedy and that he and his sister soon have new forever homes!

VIDEO: Daniel, the 26-Toed Cat, Helps Milwaukee Shelter
Daniel, a kitteh with 26 toes, has become a fundraising force for the Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center, a no-kill organization with a mission of saving animals from facilities where they might be euthanized. The owner of the shelter, Amy Rowell, says that when Daniel arrived, the shelter was on the verge of getting kicked out of its space. But Rowell made Daniel the “spokesperson” of a capital giving campaign. Soon, people began sending $26 donations — $1 for each of Daniel’s toes — to the shelter, and it is reported that they’ve raised $80,000 since October.
The Richest Kitteh in the World

Tommaso, a rescued black moggy, inherited €10 million ($13.4 million) from his late owner and is now believed to be the richest cat in the world.
Tommaso’s hoomin, the childless, 94-year-old widow of a successful builder, instructed her lawyers via handwritten note to identify “the animal welfare body or association to which to leave the inheritance and the task of looking after the cat Tommaso.”
Under Italian law, animals cannot inherit directly. However, they can be beneficiaries if a suitable trustee is found. The elderly widow entrusted the cat (and his fortune) to a friend and fellow cat-lover named Stefania, who also nursed the widow during her last months.
€10 million, eh? That’s a lot of cheezburgers and catnip!
