Bidawee has set up an online pet shelter where you can play with abandoned animals remotely. They are hoping that this project will encourage people to adopt abandoned animals. So we’ve got cute animals and a good cause? Sounds like the purrfect idea!

The Animal Haven Shelter in Shabramant, Egypt is there “for all those who can’t speak.” (Meowing is not the same as speaking, apparently.) They were founded in 2004, and since then they have worked to take in sick and injured strays, spay and neuter as many animals as possible, ensure the rights of animals, educate people in the treatment and understanding of animals, and to arrange countless adoptions for animals in need of a new forever home.

Their mission statement, according to their website:

Established on the principles of the Ethical Treatment of all creatures big and small; we strive to create awareness of the deplorable treatment of animals here in Egypt, as well as provide care and shelter for those animals who need it most.

Sounds like the work of heroes to us!
