Karaoke night was never the same after Frank’s off-key rendition of “Eye of the Tiger”

Though Andrew Pinkham’s animal photographs look like they should be hanging on walls in museums around the world next to centuries-old oil paintings, they are, in fact, contemporary photographic works.
From the artist:
These portraits challenge our preconceptions of what we think of as historical or authentic, whether it was made yesterday or hundreds of years ago. They blur the lines of time and engage the viewer in how we interpret the idea of history itself.
Check out Andrew Pinkham’s website for more photos. You can also commission a portrait of your favorite kitteh. The proceeds from commissions go to animal charities!

After suffering a life-threatening thermal injury, Gamera, a 12-year-old African spur-thighed tortoise, had to have his left front leg amputated. Enter Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. They rigged up a swiveling wheel to replace Gamera’s missing leg, and now he is reportedly “doing just fine.”
Seeing smart hoomins help their animal friends-in-need never fails to warm our hearts!
