How to Make Lol Pix and FAQ on Submissions

How to make lol* pix:
- Go to our lolcat builder
- Pick a picture or upload funny pic of a cat/dog/walrus/hamster/human/ that u own
(the kittehs prefer: clear, larger images (larger teh better) they also hate animal abuse. that’s a no-no.) - Write a capshun. need tips? try current events, pop culture references, movies, songs.
- Originality is moar better.
- Clear and concise ’cause kittehs have short attenshun… Ooh, catnip!
- No profanity *gasp* pleez.
- And click “Save & Submit”. OR:
- If you don’t want to submit it, you can just press “Save” and feel free to email ur lol* to friends! Our lol builder provides free image hosting and a page for your image.
- After review, your photo may be moved on the voting page. Not all submits make it.

Q: Jolly ol’ chap, where has thou placed my laugh-out-loud submissions?
A: Dear Hooman,
Teh Kitteh Commission of Teh Funny judges submissions by one criteria:
- Is it funny? (We know dis is totally subjective, but kittehs r always subjective.)
- Yes. Then we think about it a bit moar and promote it to the voting page.
- No. Then we store it for possible future use.
NOTE: We get far far moar submissions than we can promote to the voting page. We’re working on ways to show more pictures for voting. (Really? Yes.) Soon my dear. Soon. Only 5-6 make it to the homepage on any given day.
Q: But my dear felines, I respectfully argue that my submission was funny. Even Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II decreed it.
A: Dear Hooman,
There may be several reasons why u don’t see ur lolcat/* on the voting page:
- We may not have gotten to it yet. Kittehs has a large backlog of pictures.
- Copycat (lol!) capshun! We liek originality. If it’s been dun b4, no need to try again.
- Text may be cut off, or covering a critical part of the image. This happens a lot. Ah hem! Respect the kitteh in the picture!
- Too many wurds. Kittehs has short attenshun spans.
- Picture u used may be 2 small, out of focus or contains too much hoomans.
- UR lols is funny, but only to a small group of people (liek NY Yankees fans or chiropractors. Plz. No hatemail. Kittehs r team neutral.)
- Even kittehs may haf a hard tiem understanding ur kitteh speak. It makes our heds hurt.
- Contains Do Not Want contents liek drugs, bad wurds *eww*, abuse :(, or just makes us uncomformatable.

It’s one thing to say “large backlog”… but does that mean a few days’ worth or a few months’ worth? In other words, how long before I should assume you rejected it?

Kittehs - If i dunt c mah submishun peekture in teh “recentli uploded fotos” page, does dat meen mah submishun got losted?
One thing I don’t understand:
Sometimes I get an email that confirms my submission and it doesn’t show up. Other times I DON’T get an email confirming my submission, yet it does show up. It makes my head hurt…
Personally, I recently submitted something, didn’t get a confirmation email and it didn’t show up. Though the site had told me it was submitted when I pressed the button. So I’ve been trying to figure out since if it just sucked or didn’t actually go through.
Don’t want to resend it if it just sucked.
I also sends many lolcats to ICHC–only ONE day I does this, does I get ICHC email replies. None ever again. I have sadnees now.
Yah - I maek 2, and getz 1 email sayin “you gotz new cheezbrger” for 1 onlee, and neider of them shows on vote page…

Mah confuzun comes when I see a lolcat on the frst 10 or so Vote pgs, and then less than 1 wek ltr, same lolcat is on FRONT PG. While other lolcats languish in sorrow on the LAST Vote pgs for many many months. YYY?????????????
