Not funny or entertaining. Isn’t that some sort of neurological disorder? I hope he’s ok.

    • susannah1 says:

I agree that it isn’t funny. There seems to be something quite wrong with the poor thing, and that is not funny or entertaining.

Can’t tell if trolling or just stupid.

      • bunnyrut says:

the cat has its tail in its mouth. nothing wrong neurologically, just being silly.

      • maryjane says:

Oh lighten up — he’s holding the tip of his tail in his mouth and turning circles for fun. He’s just thought up a new game. Looks to be about 6 months old – still kitten play time.

      • Paige says:

Not funny at all! It is definitely a neurological problem. My cat Nala came home one day walking like that and I was terrified. I took her to the vet and they said she probably had blunt force trauma to the head (possibly hit by a car or maybe even the psycho neighbors did something). I had to hand feed her for a week and we had to give her shots every day to fight infection. Thank God after a week she started walking straight again and was just fine. She was strictly indoor kitty after that.
I feel so sorry for this poor cat and hope his/her owner gives this poor thing the medical attention and love it needs to get better

    • SpaceLemur says:

The cat finally caught its tail and didn’t want to let go. Nothing wrong with the cat.

      • susannah1 says:

I couldn’t see what it was doing that closely, it was too dark, so all I saw was the turning around and around on every step and at the top. I am glad better eyes than mine could see what it was doing!

    • Lauren says:

Could very well be. Had a friend who raised a kitten who had been accidently kicked in the head and for the longest time he could only walk in circles. He adapted and could circle walk around the house, but she was finally able to retrain his brain to allow him to walk fairly normally. If this baby does have a problem, then being able to walk up the stairs is amazing and heartwarming. If it’s just because it refuses to let go of it’s tail, then it’s funny.

      • Turtle says:

Aifinks it is just holding its tail. What – you’ve never seen a cat do this? Do you REALLY think the owner of a retarded cat would film it’s retarded actions, and then post it to a “funny cats” website?

        • dingleberry says:

          ….yes?

        • CarrieVS says:

I don’t think it would be such a problem if (s)he did. The cat’s obviously happy and can get about fine, even if it is doing that because of a disability. Special needs animals don’t even know there’s anything ‘wrong’ with them, so long as they can get about and have a good quality of life. And it’s adorable.

      • Fluffy-the-Pink says:

I have a small ginger female that has brain damage from a nasty fall as a kitten (idiot past owners, not me) and epilepsy. She is perfectly happy, perfectly healthy, just batsh*t crazy. I can’t tell if she likes the taste of paint or just likes licking the walls, she gets lost in the middle of the lounge floor and has slept in the bed with me since I took her in. Her behaviours do have a sad cause, but that was many years ago and now it is all apart of her ‘quirky’ personality. Including her obssesive addiction to anything pickled. Point being, whether this kitteh ^ is just having a ‘must hold my tail’ moment or has problems, it’s cute as hell and funny. The owners have filmed something it’s known to do, why else have a camera pointed at the cat on the stairs in the first place? It’s just a part of the kittehs personality (whatever the cause) and the owners chose to share this with us. Kitteh is clearly healthy and well loved. Personally, this is the biggest Aw! of the year so far. I am glad they shared.

        • diggereedoo says:

my uncle’s cat used to get stuck in corners. would just sit there staring until someone called him or a noise would draw his attention.

    • Pussyfoot says:

I gotta agree, I don’t think that kitty’s fully with us. NOT being funny, this cat looks like he/she has adapted to do this, not that it’s natural.

      • Pussyfoot says:

Hmm, didn’t realize at first that it was holding it’s tail. I think what we have here is a case of the stoopids. Kitty should be fine, a little different, but I don’t feel it’s offensive at all. Just an opinion.

  4. tengel28 says:

  9. lisa says:

i gawt it! i gawt it!

  10. Truemouse says:

At first I thought the cat was blind, but yeah, he’s just funning around and being stupid. very cute.

  11. Caretroll wannabe says:

For all the people condemning ICHC for some perceived injustice or cruelty in posting or allowing to be posted awesome videos that somehow get people’s panties in a twist, I’m just happy that ICHC appears to be completely ignoring you, because videos make it on here every day where someone *always* gets offended, and loudly condemns the whole ICHC system for that video’s existence and public accessibility. I’m glad the loud minority isn’t getting the result it so angrily demands, and that the rest of us who constitute the majority can still have fun without having our day ruined over some stupid random cat video on the internet, and who don’t pretend to be animal ‘experts’ who can spot cruelty where *sarcasm on* other simpletons just mindlessly laugh at animal suffering *sarcasm off*.

    • Wozzle says:

Actually, I thought it was cute AND I thought the kitten might have a neurological problem, but since it looks good and was getting around Ok, I thought that if it did have a problem it would eventually overcome it.

However, ICHC does sometimes post video of an animal in distress and that’s not amusing.

If you’ll pay more attention to the previous comments, you’ll see that some of the people who were originally concerned left “Oh, maybe I was wrong” comments when it was pointed out that the kitten is holding its tail and apparently playing, even though that in itself isn’t proof that the kitty’s completely Ok.

Those caring folks you’re condemning don’t deserve your disrespect.

      • Idia says:

It is very rare that ICHC will post something of an animal truly in distress. At least as something that is meant to be cute or funny.
Like that fox Chuckles, the animal has a disorder, and the people who put up the video are those helping the animal. Commenters are railing all over the video about cruelty and how it’s probably scared or whatever, while a few smarter people go to the website explaining that the caretakers are indeed taking care of the animal and he is quite happy.

Most comments are put up without any real idea of what is happening at all. Both those supportive and condemning. Either that or they take something way out of context to try and prove that something bad was happening in the background when whatever the cat did was obviously of it’s own volition and for crying out loud, the cat is fine.

It’s just annoying to see these people going crazy over something that is probably normal for the animal or not bad for the animal or being taken care of.

    • short1fry says:

Caretroll wannabe and all who have gotten bent out of shape by my comment: I have not condemned ICHC for ANYTHING they have ever put on this site. Yes, some of it disturbs me but we all have the right to our own opinion. If I see a preview of something that might upset me I just don’t click the ‘play’ button. I don’t think this is a funny video. The kitty does seem to have a neurological problem but the fact she won’t let go of that tail is cute. Many animals live with problems like this. I just don’t think it’s funny. My opinion, I said it, get over it. It’s part of what makes us individuals. Now let’s all go back and enjoy the rest of the site.

  12. Lends a whole new meaning to the parental phrase, “Take your ass right back up those stairs and change, young lady!

  21. CarrieVS says:

Someone watch that and then tell me animals don’t have a sense of humour!

  22. emceemk says:

Oh FFS, can’t the original poster clear up the matter?
BTW, my kittenne has a counter-clockwise obsession that is not nearly as pronounced, but does seem odd.

    • Kristenaux says:

Yes they could…& should! The kitten has it’s tail in it’s mouth & is not willing to let go of it. But the video isn’t the best lit video I’ve seen & you’re unable to see that right away. The originator of this video *should* have assured viewers it was only that, & that the kitten was fine.
For posters to come on here & castigate those other posters who are concerned for the kitten tho’, I say sit on it! I’m an animal advocate & I *wish* more people would show this kind of concern, whether founded or not.

  23. Loulou says:

Nothing wrong with this kitty. Just playing with his tail on the stairs. Actually I think he did those maneuvers quite elegantly
Also it is the funniest thing I have ever seen a cat do..
