       sometimes they are! 1 time i had stomach cramps & went to lie down, & lil curled up against me right where it hurt & purred: a furry, vibrating heating pad! & very helpful! @>)

     my french-english dictionary says “hurlement” means howling/yelling/roaring/bellowing. unfortunately, i don’t have a french-feline dictionary, or even an english-feline one!

   Hmmm.. Treading on dangerous grounds there: you never know what you are saying to your cat, and if it sounds like that it can’t be a good thing imho…

   Peronally I only talk ‘cat’ if I’m pretty sure of what I’m saying (like “noms!” or “nice!” or “what u want?” or “aaaarrrghhhh-gerroff-me-with-those-razorsharp-nails!!!1!”).

   Schweeeeet adorable kitteh though, that must be said .

   My cat, Ash, and I talk like this. Meowing at him is about the only way he’ll respond to us. He knows his name but doesn’t answer to it. He’ll answer if I meow in a certain way with a certain tone, though. He’s a blue-point Siamese and VERY chatty.

     Thanks! Ash is a very handsome boy! Hearing him meow gave me a moment of nostalgia for my meezer who passed over the Rainbow Bridge two years ago. Siamese will always be my favorite breed (sorry, Maru).
