I have two black kitties…one long hair, one short hair. Both are sweet and snuggley. I wish people wouldn’t equate black kitties and evil, because it means black cats have a hard time being adopted at shelters. Go out and adopt a black cat, everyone- I’ve never known one that didn’t have a great personality.

Dey sayz dat teh beeeg black goggies and de black kittehz stayz dere 6-8 weeks longerz den de otherzez on aberagez…. and dey doant be doptin’ owt de black onez from Tocktober 1 to Nosevember 5 to keepz dem sayfes and stuffs….

when ai adoptified mai midnight kitteh, teh shelter wurker said much teh sayme ting. mai gramma cat useter sai, “whenever the cat of the house is black, the lasses of lovers will have no lack.” she said it wuz a nold English saying, sew mebbe owr TTI peeps can verify taht? ai just lyke it, maiself.
I adopted my Sasha on Halloween! She was the one and only black cat they allowed out in October, but I got her because I had applied to be a foster parent to another cat, and he got adopted before I got my foster care license (Yes, in Kansas, you have to have a license to foster for a shelter!). So they told me to take one of the long-term kitties instead…and that was Sasha. She’d been there since April.
For bunbuns, its de REWs (red-eyed-whites) dat has trubble being adoptifyed. If dey ar big, itz even harder. We has a bruther-sister payr uv big white bunbuns wif dark eerz an feets an smudgy noses an dey has been in de shelter almost a yeer.
I has a Baysment Bunneh, though, an she is de sweetest fing ever.

Personally I love black cats. Out of the 3 I had over the years the two black ones were no doubt the most loving ones.

I read in “Cat Fancy” where a 2 year old black kitty named “Midnight” alerted a newborn’s baby girl’s mom that her baby was having trouble breathing! The doctors said that if that cat had not alerted the parents to the trouble, their daughter would of died. That dear sweet kitty lived to 15 
My parents adopted a mostly-black cat from a shelter because they were in a room full of kittehs and teh little guy kept roamin over to them and bein all nuzzly. Was deffntly a ppl cat, not ebil at all.
