How many folks here know the Betsy-Tacy book series by Maud Hart Lovelace (basically autobiographical fiction about her own childhood in Mankato MN around the turn of the last century)? Several of the books make reference to the “Cat Duet” Betsy and her friend Tacy like to perform on any excuse, which lets them yeowl and caterwaul musically. (I think the reference has been identified as a piece by Rossini.)
Ruth, I loved those books when I was in grade school!!! Have not read them in many years and do not remember the Cat Duet.
I know her because one of the house fixer upper shows on PBS restored one of her homes.
