LOL, I love the play on the stupid Halloween dispute about costumes!!!

    • Christine says:

Thanks for the voice of reason! Halloween has become such a contested event. What ever happened to the “I just wanna dress up and have fun” idea? Maybe our children will talk about how the holiday was outlawed because it upset too many special interest groups.

      • CarrieVS says:

Where I live it’s still a kids thing. Little kids dress up and have a great time, with sweets, teenagers do their best to get sweets off people, a few idiots throw eggs around.

    • Rhonda says:

Absolutely! Such a waste of emotional energy.

I’m of 100% Irish descent, and I could spend all day on March 17 getting in a snit about stereotyping and bad fake accents. But it’s more fun to just laugh and have a beer. (Not green, though — there are limits!)

  7. phantagrae says:

We’re having a costume contest here at work on Monday and I was debating about wearing my usual “tuxedo cat” costume.
It probably won’t win any prizes, but at least I can dress up, but I need to think of a better way to do a tail…

  8. Chirpoff says:

    HILARIOUS!!! Gud one! :D

I remember the days when people were not such children, had a back bone and did not get offended all the time. I think the ad campain is stupid, but I love the meme

  10. I never thought lolcats would be racist.

  11. marie says:

Insensitive to the original ads. I hate the world today.

This is in soooo much better taste than the run of Halloween costumes that are being protested against – cat culture is always in good taste. But as I said elsewhere, Halloween is ABOUT bad taste. It’s about saying “this is NOT me.” Things that you’d never think of approving under other circumstances are acceptable on that one occasion. If you don’t like parties where the idea is to be offensive and get wasted, don’t go to those parties.
    (Lolspeek bak on)

A friend of mine dressed as (the John Cleese version of) Hitler for halloween. It got REALLY weird when he swapped costumes with a guy dressed as a woman. Hitler in a tight dress..

  14. A Biker Too says:

Bizniz Keow yam seareeyus baout hyoomnz nawt maekun fuhn uv hym.

  15. not so new here says:

Actually, I find it offensive that you’re trivializing other people for being offended. And yes, I’m serious! You want to pretend racism doesn’t exist, you want to BE racist, and call those offended ‘sensitive’ or ‘thin skinned’. You trivialize entire races by marginalizing their concerns.
