My cat used to do the same thing. Then I started to pick him up and place him in my lap every time he got near me while I worked on the computer.
As we all know, no cat in the world wants to be where YOU put him. He promptly decided that if I wanted him on my lap then by-gosh he wasn’t going to be there, ever.

Do not always work… Still have kitteh sitting on my lap when I play WoW. He don’t disturb or even touch the screen or keyboard, just sitting on my lap “sleeping” and sometimes looking at my screen.
Dare not let him play in case he is better than I am…
I use a laptop at home. My cat is jealous of the attention the trakpad gets, so he constantly nuzzles whichever hand is poking it. When it’s my left hand, he bites it. My cat hates my left arm and hand lol
Mine always puts her paw on the track pad on my laptop! I move the paw. The paw goes back. I move the cat. She stretches out a leg and casually places the foot on the pad. I try clicking something. Nothing happens. Hmmm… what’s wro… oh, it’s you!

We had kitteh at wurk wn day. Everbodes were quiet cause kitteh were sleeping. Peaceful! Butt(!) too dajerus for kitteh here so we found him a gud home.
I actually got my big boy Puck at work!
When he was a little kitten, only about 6 weeks old, someone had apparently left him on the doorstep of a vet’s office that was next door to the office where I used to work. I guess they figured he’s just sit there like a little statue until the vet’s office opened…
Anyway, he apparently wandered over to our building where an early arriver took him inside. He was playing around in a couple of departments until I got there later in the morning. He walked around on my desk and ran up and down the aisles like he owned the place.
I eventually took him next door to the vet, thinking I couldn’t really take him. I still had my old kitty Cyrano and I hadn’t “planned” to get a kitten just then, etc.
Well, I talked to my sister about him that night and she said, “Well, maybe God put this little guy in your lap right now for a reason.”
So, the next day I took the carrier with me when I went to work, and I brought him home.
And we’ve lived happily ever after.
(Except for a couple of serious cat bite incidents… )
Sometimez we haz kittehz at works. Then they gitz adopated and then we haz to wait for nuther rite kitteh for store kitteh.

Mine tried that once or twice. She stopped when I started dumping her on the floor. Lap is fine, but leave the keyboard alone.
Yup, my JJ thinks he’s all the top my lap needs. And he’s 12 pounds, so ignoring him is impossible.
I lubs him, though.

Yep, that’s how Gracie and George “help” my parents on the computer, excpet George just lays on the keyboard and Gracie rubs herself on the laptop…..now that I’ve moved to finish college I do miss them getting in the way!

He left out the part where the cat tries to drink out of the coffee mug. Mine LOVES coffee and will stick his face right in it if I don’t cover it with my hand!
That’s funny! I have a parrot that loves coffee, but my cat isn’t interested in it. He will, however, try to drink the milk from my cereal bowl… before I am done with it… Silly kittehs.

My two cats have very different approaches to my computer time.
Puck generally doesn’t care, he usually jumps up and walks on the computer desk while I’m trying to relax on the couch. While I’m at the computer he might ask me to “stretch his bones”, but he doesn’t really like to be held.
He does seem to have something against my wrist-rest. He will get on my desk chair when I’m not there and knock the wrist rest onto the floor. He also seems to be afraid of it…
Snug, on the other hand, loves to be held. He’ll be asleep on the couch and he’ll suddenly wake up, cry at me, then come to the desk and cry some more. If I don’t pick him up right away, he’ll just jump up on me. Then he’ll either sit and watch the mouse arrow moving around the screen or else he’ll insist on sleeping in my arms–not on my lap, but in my arms.
It’s really hard to type with one hand, or see the screen with a kitten head in your face.
But it’s snuggly!
So everyone- haz anyonez kitteh accidentally ordered something for you that you didn’t want? “No! Not that button Pebbles! Crap- I wunder if I can sell 300 widgets on ebay, or just one rotten kitteh?”
My kitten Gabriel almost purchased 3333 copies of a book on Amazon.com
(I turned off the “Purchase with One-click” after that).
It was a book on psychological development.
Maybe he was going to share the books with the neighborhood cats so they could understand those crazy hoomans.
The worst part is having the cat’s anus shoved right in your face.
Unfortunately, kittehs believe that is their best part and you will *nevah* change their mind!

I WISH I was experiencing this when I clicked on it…I was at (pleh) work and my kittie is at homes…but she does do this when i is interwebbing..whenz I worked for a company…whose name begins with S and rymes with Toni…we had a ladee bring inna lap top that kitty had taken such a dislike too they pee’ed on it…rather well aktually..the laptop was beyond repair…I tried really hard to keep the straight face as I told her “um sorry liquid damage is not covered in warranty…and cat pee is liquid”
My cat does all of that. And when fed up drops straight down over my fingers on the keyboard, and closes her eyes.
It’s really hard to type with a fat cat on your keyboard.
