  2. Val says:

Wouldn’t surprise me if there’s something seriously wrong with this poor kittie. It’s not the same as when they attack their tails.

  3. L4a says:

    legs r trikky fings…

  4. Basementcatzmom says:

Yeah, no, that’s a little scary. I’d check him at the vet, too. That looked like some kind of nerve issue.

    • Stickywiggit says:

      Or he’s stupid…

      • Sam says:

Uh, no. Even dumb cats don’t kick themselves in the face violently. I’d suspect a neurological problem, some type of seizure perhaps.

This cat’s owner needs to take it to the vet, not post unfunny videos of its suffering on the internet.

        • candyluna says:

          good point! it is sad.

        • ravendrkwolf says:

oh lighten up, its hilarious. The cat is either a nut job or a tard. either way, he is funny as all get out!

          • Void says:

Yes, lighten up, who cares about pain as long as it’s funny, right?

            • GigaGuess says:

So would you mind letting the rest of us know how to differentiate sick cat from just generalized cat weirdness? I had a cat that would randomly jump up and start chasing…absolutely nothing. Perhaps my cat was psychotic. I had another one that would attack it’s tail every now and then. Sick cat, or just weird?

        • Pictometry says:

Are you serious? Do you really think that the owner of this cat HASN’T taken it to the vet? Of course they would have!
As for posting the *ahem* “unfunny” video, you have no right to tell people what they should and should not post of their own pets. If they love the animal, and they still deem the video appropriate to post, then what position are you in to criticise them? It’s not like laughing at this video is going to make the cat’s condition worse!

      • Cedar says:

No, that was far too violent. You don’t see cats play with each other like that and anyone that’s owned a cat can tell you that kind of noise was not a playful one. It was angry and frustrated.

There is something physically wrong with that cat.

  5. Kimmypage says:

    ..NO…poor kitty….have him checked out…..that’s not right…. :(

    • Firellius says:

I think it might just be a defense reaction. The legs are crucial to survival, anything gets close to the weak spot (inner thighs) survival instinct kicks in. Vigorously. Dogs do it, cats might do it as well.

  6. David says:

Damn, that’s one bad sample of ‘nip.

Actually, I agree with Mom. It’s time to visit the V E T.

  7. Ella says:

That’s not funny. That poor animal has a real problem.

  8. Firellius says:

Might actually be similar to what dogs have. A certain spot, if you scratch it, they kick their hind legs. My dog used to be able to scratch herself on that spot, so just fire it up and she’d keep scratching for about three seconds, no input required.

And no, they do not care what gets in the way of their hind legs during the kicking motion.

  9. whirledpeace says:

awww!! little fella juss habin sum issews wif his wegs fighten back. he’z awraight. mah kitteh duz sumpthin laik dis. doan worrie.

  10. an_insane_elf says:

That is quite HIlarious!! Kitteh gave self a cuncushun. Doesn’t seem to feel the pain of bitten self either. I feel bad for kitteh’s brain, the more kicks self, the more sloshed brain become, causing more kicks, it’s a vishious cycle

  11. One Skunk Todd says:

Kitteh’s haz to won-up hoomans on EBBERYTING! Dis tiem itz rassless-leg-sny… sin… condishun.

  12. moe says:

  13. Gale says:

    no more nip fore yooooo!

  14. James says:

Don’t you love how as soon as a cat does something weird it turns into “HORREEE SHEEEEEET DA KAT IS DYIN!!!!!!!!” more than likely a flea or something got him in a sensitive part of the foot/leg, and that triggered his kicking reaction. nerve issue, hah, please tell me where your veterinary degree comes from plyease.

    • Val says:

35 years of cat ownership and I’ve NEVER seen this before, so I think it’s irresponsible to dismiss it like you do. Hope you don’t have any cats with problems.

  15. James says:

Don’t you love how as soon as a cat does something weird it turns into “HORREEE SHEEEEEET DA KAT IS DYIN!!!!!!!!” more than likely a flea or something got him in a sensitive part of the foot/leg, and that triggered his kicking reaction. nerve issue, hah, please tell me where your veterinary degree comes from please.

    • Arlene says:

Try 50 years of living with many cats and rescuing many more. What this cat did is MORE than weird…it’s a sign of a serious problem. You cannot simply dismiss what a lot of cat people are saying here.

  16. es says:

yeah that’s actually a sign of neurological damage. sad :(

  17. kitteh_scout says:

oh noes!! Ai finks he mites hab fleebeeez!???
    Poor kitteh!!! :(

    it’s still mad cute :3

  20. pnm says:

I never post but this cat needs to be checked out by a vet. That is not normal. My cat was biting herself and pulling out her fur. One shot and she stopped. I don’t think this video belongs on cheezburger, but i hope it gets the cat the help it needs.

    • sammi says:

Came here to say that, but couldn’t have said it better than this ^^.

    • roxy says:

this may have just been a cat on to much nip
your cat likely got a shot of a steroid like depo, thst can have many side effects! find the cause of the cats issues, not just a “band aide”

  21. Charle says:

    Dr. Strangecat.

  22. maureen says:

I don’t find videos of obviously distressed animals at all funny. In fact I’m appalled that you allowed this on the site. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

  23. Ruth Hilsman, PhD says:

The poor kitteh accidentally triggered his defensive bunny-kick reflex. Take him to a vet, who may look for inflammation in the spine or other areas of the peripheral nervous system.

  24. miwacchi says:

There’s nothing wrong with the cat. I mean, seriously people. There’s a difference between hitting “the spot” and a cat pulling out it’s fur. It’s the same for humans, it’s called “reflexes”. Hit your knee the right way and you’ll kick as well. We just don’t have that cool kicking motion that cats have.

    • Laurie says:

miwacchi, do you even have cats? There is no reflex action on humans OR cats that would cause this reaction. Where a “spot” might cause one leg to kick spasmodically, there are no nerves that connect together in a way to cause both legs to kick up like that. This cat probably has neurological problems that need to be addressed by a vet, not by us on a website.

      • Sam says:

THIS. It’s not like rubbing a dog’s belly, I’m sorry but there is no “spot” like that on cats and anyone who actually owns cats would know that this is not a normal reaction.

Cats do not kick themselves in the face and then gnaw on their own thigh like this cat in the normal course of things.

        • WMDKitty says:

Gonna weigh in here with my completely unqualified opinion.

That kitty looks kinda spastic. It may be nothing. It may be neurological damage or disease. Get that cat to the VET, pronto, JUST IN CASE.

    • Princeofcups says:

You have no flipping idea what you are talking about. The cat in all probability has hyperesthesia. We saw another vid of this a few months back. The cat is in serious pain, and attacks its own tail or legs in this case since it thinks its being attacked. This poor animal is in serious distress and pain. The usual treatment is an anti-depressant and/or removing the tail, which in some cases reduces the pain. If that does not work, then the only solution is euthanasia.

      • sean says:

he MAY be in pain because he kicked himself violently in the head, and plus if it triggered any sort of reflex or even if it had a serious problem, it didn’t attack the legs because of hypresthesia it attacked its leg because it kicked itself, and it went like a dog who mistakes its tail for something and attacks with intent to maim/kill which with some dogs (german shepards) is relatively common

  25. ALayne says:

I agree with most of the replies on this post. This cat should be taken to the vet as this is not typical behavior for any cat and could be an indication of a serious issue.

@Maureen… I agree this is not funny. This animal is in distress and needs to be examined by a vet.

  26. Laurie says:

I have to agree. There is something seriously wrong and the cat needs to be seen by a Vet ASAP. I definitely don’t understand the mindset that finds an animal in obvious distress funny. Oh and James, those of us who live with animals and pay attention to them can see when something is not right with them, you don’t need a veterinary degree for that.

    • Firellius says:

You need a veterinary degree to set an official diagnosis. And until someone does that, this is either an unfortunate animal with neural issues, or just a funny incident. (Like a dog scratching it’s own reflex spot, just going on like a self-powering engine)

    • ORLY?!?!?!? says:

You don’t live with this animal. While exhibiting strange behavior, you have no knowledge as to whether this animal is healthy, sick, cared for, or neglected. You don’t know where it was raised, you don’t know what problems its had or hasn’t had since it was a kitten. It’s kinda like saying “my neighbors kid doesn’t like raisins. I have Over 9000 kids and they all love raisins, there must be something wrong with my neighbors kids.”

      • David says:

Um… that’s why at the very least, you take the cat to the vet, to rule that sort of thing out. Otherwise, you are simply a sadistic bastard.

        • Firellius says:

Now now, don’t say that. Otherwise you’d be a sadistic bastard for not rushing your kid into intensive care every time it sneezes.

We don’t know what this is, so don’t go calling people rude or horrible because they think the video is funny. Neither party can present any proof that this kitten is in serious pain or terminal. We can’t prove there’s something wrong with it, we can’t prove it’s healthy. Stay objective, any kind of “Conclusion” is already wrong because it’s made on the wrong info.

      • miwacchi says:

This is what I was getting at. And for one who asked, no I don’t have a cat right now but I did. And as owners, or even former ones, they know when a cat has issues and when something strange just happens every now and then.

      • Cedar says:

You don’t have to know an animal personally to know a sound of pain. This animal is in PAIN.

  27. Ava says:

Maybe it was a reaction to a flea, but I’d still have a vet check to be sure. Better safe than sorry.

  28. SylverWyrd says:

I agree that if the cat has done this repeatedly I’d take him to the vet. But, come on, it was pretty funny. Especially the way he bites his own legs after they pummel him.

    • madcat says:

I would say it happens repeatedly. Usually people don’t get something like that on video the first time.

Not funny. I have had cats my whole life — and dogs — and haven’t seen any animal do something this weird. It almost looks demonized.

      • L&E says:

Exactly!! Anyone who has a cat who does something they want to take a picture of knows it’s a waiting game. The cat has obviously done it before and the owners laid in wait until it happened again.

    • Val says:

Only to a sadist is this funny.

    • Arlene says:

      Sorry…it wasn’t funny to me.

  29. why u kickin’ yo’self? why u kickin’ yo’self?

  30. Ryan Waxx says:

    It’s pretty clear what happened.

This is one of those cats who don’t like their belly touched, for whatever reason. With those cats, the moment you touch “the forbidden spot”, you’re done. It is normal behavior for the cat to let the legs fly before it checks weather the offender is you or another cat or the dog. If you doubt this, just try giving a kitty a bad touch while she’s sleeping. Have a registered nurse with several quarts of compatible blood handy.

You can see quite clearly that the cat’s legs start right after he licks his own belly. So, and this is the part that’s unusual, the cat didn’t realize that he’s the one touching his own forbidden spot. Even though it’s unusual, it just seems like a goofy mistake.

If it was his own tail offending him, then I’ve seen cats do that all the time, right through to the “punish the offending limb!” part.

    • kati says:

I agree that this is what’s happening. You can see that he is incredibly surprised by the kicking, bites his legs, then attacks his tail.

The only thing that disturbs me for a moment is at the beginning, his leg is kind of jerking up and he looks like he is holding it down. But then again, kitty does sorta the same thing.

    • notolaf the buzzkill says:

That’s exactly what I saw. And it is hilarious.

  31. crazeecatwoman says:

Mi kitteh did dis too ebery nao & den – all her lyf (sixteen years) – n dere wuz nuffink rong wiv her, she wuz jus a bit loopy!!! N verry much loved. So plz doan wurry bout dis kitteh, I spec he’s jus fine too.
Mebbe I cud post a video too to show yu all.

    • crazeecatwoman says:

But seriously … my cat did do this, & it was very funny, especially when she used to leap up afterwards & hurtle round the house or garden. She never ever hurt herself (& yes I did check!), it was all just play fighting, & she would stop as suddenly as she started & do the ‘what, me? I’m just sitting here minding my own business!’ look. Please trust the poster of the video to know whether his or her cat is ok.

  32. Wuxie says:

This cat has a serious neurological problem and I can only hope the owner takes the cat to the vet ASAP.

  33. Wuxie says:

P.S. Not a lol video. This cat can do serious harm to itself.

  34. oh my says:

    I lol’d so hard.

  35. Blessity says:

    ROFL!!!!

  36. Bubbles says:

Can’t cure stupid. Goes for the cat, goes for those throwing a fit over a cat fighting its own legs.

  37. Joey says:

Look, all you who says: “HE HAZ TEH PROBLEMZZ, HESA DIEZZ! HEE NEEDZ VETTZZ!” First off, UNLIKELY, HE PROBABLEE HAZ TEH FLEEZ, second, JUST ADMIT IT WAS A FUNNEH!! Come on, he might has sumthin rong, but it was really funny. I bet u was laffin first time. I personally laffed 24th time, but u is u

    END LECTURE

    • Laurie says:

Again, someone who finds an animals obvious distress funny I just don’t understand. It’s NOT fleas and NOT funny. There is something going on that needs a vet to diagnose and treat, not us here on the web.

      • Laurie says:

James, your stooping to vulgarities shows your intelligence quite well. As to whether the cat is fine, to paraphrase you “where is YOUR veterinary degree?”. This is NOT normal behavior for a normal cat. Maybe the poster of the video has had the cat checked and it’s a condition they both can live with, but I for one am not going to make that assumption. As shown by all the posters who think it’s funny and no problem, there are many cat owners who are not as proactive as others in making sure their furkids are as healthy as possible and stay that way.

    • Lytrigian says:

No. I did not laugh. It was not even a little funny. It was alarming.

    • David says:

Even if it were “teh fleez”, it’s not comfortable for the cat, and the cat should still be attended to.

    • Cedar says:

Nobody can stop you from taking sadistic pleasure in the pain of other creatures but at least have the decency to not encourage it.

  38. Twiz says:

Not funny. Looks like that kitty needs to see the vet. :-(

  39. Malki says:

    Mashup–teh soundtrak is teh false.

  40. rumtumtugger says:

Dat is a baaaaa nip trip. Fur awl ob u hoo are gowin on and on about neurological issues and such, rewatch the video. Kitteh is purring and loving on his own legs before he licks his trigger spot and doesn’t have the defensive reflex takes over. AND before anybody flames me, I do have a medical degree and well over 30 years of cat experience… My Oz does that exact thing when you barely touch his belly and I’ve got the scars to prove it!! Now, back to teh funny!

  41. emceemk says:

We want updates on this kitteh.

  42. Juniper Jupiter says:

My cat does the same thing when he’s play-fighting me…although I’ve never seen him smack his own face.

It’s obvious this kitteh is okay, he didn’t knock himself out…calm down.

  43. kitten says:

my cat used to do something like this. he doesnt do it so much now. he is happier if i play rough with him (as rough as a female is going to play with a cat) and that seems to get his aggression out) he is an anxious cat and the vet has given him zanax for other stuff.

  44. Jo says:

My cat has hyperesthesia and it appears to me, that this cat is displaying the same symptoms. It’s a tingling feeling that they get down their spine, tail and back legs/feet. It’s painful (think pins and needles when your foot falls asleep) and the cat will often times bite themselves to stop the pain.

While the kitty kicking himself is somewhat humorous, I think the telltale sign that it’s more than him being a silly cat is the actual biting he is doing after the kicking. He is biting his back legs, not playfully either.

You can usually tell an episode is coming on by the rippling they get up and down their back. My cat, Martha, will usually get an episode that results in her trying to outrun her back feet. It’s actually incredibly sad, and there is nothing to be done about it. Other than the occasional episode she’s perfectly healthy so putting her down is definitely not an option!

Anyway, if it were my cat, I would have him checked out! You can also look up videos of hyperesthesia on youtube and see some other cats that have the episodes to help diagnose your kitty if he is having the same symptoms.

    • dadoctah says:

Okay, take the cat for a checkup. But be prepared to learn that (1) the kick was merely a reflex as a number of people have said, and (2) the biting of the leg afterwards is the cat trying to wake up its legs that have simply fallen asleep. Haven’t you ever had your arm fall asleep and start slapping and pinching it to try and get the feeling back faster?

  45. Daphne Moss says:

Aren’t there any vets or vet techs who read this who could add some authoritative analysis? I’ve had many cats, and none ever behaved like this … kicking with the back legs is what fighting cats do a fighting gesture. That much I do know for sure. So I’d like to hear a real vet weigh in on if what we who’ve had lots of cats see as an alarming behavior could be something less serious…
    Any takers?

  46. Kyuuki-chan says:

one of my cats does almost the same thing, but only when he’s had a little too much catnip (but then he does all sorts of hilarious things when on catnip, like start chasing his tail on the back of a chair until he fell onto the seat of the chair, then kept on until he fell on the floor sideways).

  47. Bubbles says:

If this cat has some sort of neurological disorder, I imagine the vet bills will be quite high.

Perhaps the answer can best be found with the combination of a pillow cover and a lake.

  48. megan says:

This is scary and sad. I hope he gets checked!

  49. megs86 says:

my kitty does this too! it’s so cute. she’ll look at me like ‘what the hell? why are you doing that?’ she is so entertaining! never a dull moment with her.

  50. Coral says:

To be honest, I have an in law whose cat did that. And ultimately it turns out the cat has epilepsy.

  51. R says:

    Liu Kang’s Bicycle kick?

  52. mary says:

Neurological problem, needs vet the poor thing.

And yes, I am qualified to make this comment.

  53. L&E says:

I’ve had cats all my life and I’ve never ever seen a reaction like this. I agree, there is no mystery spot that causes a natural reflex like that. Who ever thinks that’s “normal” is an idiot. They have sensitive areas for sure but kicking himself HARD in the head like that!? Have you ever been kicked by a cat like that? It freaking hurts and he probably hurt himself badly or will soon. That cat is in some sort of distress and needs a vet and better parents who don’t think that’s funny. Because it’s not funny.

  54. Jdub says:

    yeah, not so cute.

  55. OGollyMolly says:

might need to get checked out but jeez of course its funny its like egging on a hockey player when he gets in a fight, its probably not proper to like but its still entertaining as hell

  56. Cindy Z says:

People calm down, jeez.. I have seen this before in a 100% perfectly healthy cat. Cats can just go into a ‘playful spaz’ mode. We actually had a cat that was 3 yrs old, vetted every year, never sick a day in his life that once in a while would get into this crazy mood and it would start with him attacking his tail and would progress to him hissing and attacking his paw. It doesn’t mean the cat is sick or has some disease. All you cat owners are going to sit there and say you’ve never seen your cat just crouch and start running and chasing NOTHING or see them twitch their fur after rolling around. It not always that there is something wrong. For every stupid thing a human has done, do we tell them to go see a Dr or that they need meds, no, we chalk it up to just being dumb for a bit..my god, people need to calm down

  57. Daisy says:

This is more distressing than funny. It doesn’t look like a playful moment at all. I’m don’t take my cat to the vet if it so much as sneezes, but if my cat had done this then it would be going straight to the vet for a checkup. After all it’s better to be safe than sorry. To the people that made a point of telling us all off for not laughing at this video – there are a lot of cat owners on here that really do love their cats, and we do generally know when our cats have something wrong with them. Don’t get your knickers in a twist. We’re just concerned that’s all.

  58. Lapsed Pastafarian says:

Something seriously wrong with that cat. Not funny.

  59. CigaretteJunkie says:

that cat is obviously mental – poor thing

  60. mukyuu says:

Jesus christ, stop moaning.its like a cat accidently fell of a small sofa and everyones like OHNOZ ITS DAING.its just a nerve or something.

  61. Say g'night, Gracie says:

    *gasps*
    Can’t… breathe! Laughing too hard!
    *wheeze*

  62. miwacchi says:

Well, it seems that people only read the last few posts before posting his/her ideas…..read all of them…..it seems that the few people who have sense are being ignored by the “fly-off-the-handle drama queens”. For all we know the owners have already taken the cat to the vet the first time they saw this behavior, the vet gave them a thumbs-up in the health department and chalked it up as some weird, off-the-wall thing that the cat does. Therefore, now, it’s just weird, emo kitty instead of “OMG!! IT’S NEUROLOGICAL!! QUICK, TAKE THE KITTY TO THE VET!!” I’m sure the owner is like “yeah, been there done that.” And they are not obliged to answer just because some cat owners think that they are better owners than others judging by a quick 30 second video.

  63. dogface says:

There are actually some intelligent people here. However, as the rest of the world can see that in America everyday …the majority of the American people are a bunch of uneducated, ignorant, imbeciles that know nothing about the world, and workings of life in general. You make living on this planet dangerous for the rest of us because in your ignorance you are unable to recognize a problem when it is right in front of you, and you dismiss the obvious and belittle it. You will deserve what you get.

    • miwacchi says:

Why do you assume that this is the first time the owners have seen this behavior or probably have done nothing about it? Why do you, and others, think you know what’s best for a cat that you’ve only watched 30 seconds of it’s life? You have just put yourself in the uneducated and ignorant category because you are quite ignorant to the life of that cat and it’s owner(s) and the situation.

    • AmericanDevilDog says:

With your retort you make yourself look like an idiot for saying a whole nation has the same IQ standing as you. So if you have a problem a country, get into diplomacy, become an ambassador, or even write a novel on it. But I bet you’ll never do this, say that to an American in their face, in America. The reason why I know you won’t do that is due to that you’re one of the many individuals in the word that hide behind a computer to do their arguing, bickering, and other taxing (worthless) debates. So do not try to be Anti-American on an American made website. If you do, I don’t think other Americans, nor the creators of this website (which are American), would take time to understand ignorant you look by what you exclaimed. KTHNXBAI ^_^

  64. Ickybaby says:

We have a cat that has always been persnickity about being touched when she doesn’t want to be touched and then ever since we brought some kittens home, she started growling and attacking herself in her sleep. I just know she is dreaming about them. Recently she started hissing, growling and jumping about even when the kittens are not in the room. She is hillarious! Oh, she is also vet approved and totally healthy!

  65. victoriaemeredith says:

Hm. Was I the only one who looked at this and said, “Wow, that looks…uh…whatever the video equivalent of PhotoShopped is?”

  66. ColdFusion says:

Sometimes having your body act totally automatic can backfire on you..

  67. Lorrie Morris says:

THIS was NOT even remotely funny. I beg of the people at ICHC to PLEASE look at your “funny” videos or photos with an educated and common sense eye. There is something terribly wrong with this cat and he/she is no doubt suffering. I will have to delete my account with ICHC if I keep seeing videos or photos of animals that are obviously sick or being mistreated in any way. I will also share my feeling with my friends in the animal activist community, which is quite large. There are far too many sweet and funny photos and videos that can be posted. The video on this day’s e-mail about the refuge in Argentina was a super example, only to be followed by something disturbing. There is NO humor in this.

  68. senselocke says:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feline_Hyperesthesia_Syndrome

That cat is in pain–that wasn’t “I’m finicky and tweaked”, that was “something is the hell wrong”.

If your cat does something like this, don’t take a video–TAKE IT TO A VET.

  69. tickitty says:

    o. i didn’t realize ichc promoted laughing at animals in distress…

    Poor thing… :-/

One of our family cat had the same kind of seizures, including the leg-biting (was hit by a car some years earlier) – looks scary, sounds VERY scary and makes you feel sorry for the poor lil bastard… But as soon as it was over, she always seemed well immediately again.

All wild animals are fighters, that goes double for cats.

I reported the post in the “contact us” link at the bottom of the page. If you think this post is in poor taste then you should also report it.

I agree….I already did the same. I will cancel my account with them if I don’t get the response I want. This will be the 3rd time I have written to them about videos that show an animal suffering or having some kind of obvious problem. NOT funny at all…

  72. Rodrigo says:

My cat does something similar sometimes. He tries to lick his legs AND scratch his ears with his legs at the same time, so he ends up kicking himself in the face :\ Usually because of fleas, because he gets nervous, and can’t tell where the bites are coming from exactly. I need to rush with the comb to get hid of them.

  73. Kitteh says:

    I’m sorry..

I thought this was hilarious. XP

  74. ravendrkwolf says:

cats tend to “jack rabbit” all the time, this guy seems to have just done it to himself and it shocked the dickens out of him so much he couldnt stop. its a aww poor baby but funny as heck thing.

    • FaithBlack says:

      Exactly my thoughts.
My cat had cancer a few years back, so we had to have one of her back legs amputated so the cancer couldn’t spread. Now whenever you scratch certain parts of her body that she can’t reach anymore (behind one ear, under her chin, her forehead, etc), her little hip moves like she thinks the leg is still attached. Different situation, same reaction.

  75. FaithBlack says:

Here’s the way I see it – The cat’s owner was recording it, which means that he probably knew it was going to happen. As a cat owner, the first time I heard my cat make that noise & saw him doing that, I would have taken him to the vet, & I’m sure many other owners would have done the same thing. If you think about this logically, this cat’s owner probably already did that, & the vet must have given the cat a clean bill of heath or the owner wouldn’t have found it amusing at all & wouldn’t have posted it on this site. As ravendrkwolf said before me, it’s one of those “Aww poor baby but funny as heck” moments.

  76. lostinwonderland says:

All these people pushing their opinion of i know more than you ive had my cat longer dosnt mean you know more you’re cat hasn’t had the same medical timeline as this cat so you arent an expert you only know what youve experienced, read and been told for all you know the cat could have been doing this since it was a kitten.

and all of the “it has a neurological problem, this disease or condition and the my cat did this and we had to euthanize it, thats heading into hypochondriac terrortory like a person coughs and another says you should go to the hospital my uncle coughed like that and died a week later over exageration of something that is really common

if you all just paused for a minute before commenting you would have realized any sane pet owner would take the cat to the vet when they first saw it occour you saw 30 seconds of a cat and youre calling animal welfare

i have a certificate IV in captive animals before you all go getting your back’s up

    • Val says:

I’m sorry, is it possible to get a certificate in ANYTHING apparently without any knowledge of the language in which you choose to attempt to communicate?

      • Lorrie Morris says:

You hit the nail on the head Val!
Lostinwonderland need to brush up on his/her writing skills! Must have gotten that certificate IV (whatever the heck that is) from working in a circus (now that’s a real “be kind to animals” type of place…NOT)!
The thing is…sadly people who own cats, or any other animals, aren’t always intelligent or compassionate beings. Whomever posted this video may have known something was wrong with the cat, but found it funny. Kind of like laughing at the human being who has a deformity…many of those types of folks on here.
I think I will also leave the site, which is sad considering how many funny or cute videos and pictures they put up. But in my book, kicking one dog over another because it’s got a problem, then laughing about it, is not something I can support.
I’m sure all of you “easily entertained” folks will miss me SO much!
        >^..^< PEACE OUT…..

its an australian accreditaion and no circus in australia has live animals other than domesticated animals and with our strict animal rights abd cruelty laws no circus would be game to, our knowledge of language is clearly different because im speaking english fair enuf there are some australian terms that probably make no sense to you but still personally attacking someone on the internet (you can go to gaol in some states for that) for expressing a valid opinion?

          • Val says:

Here’s your last statememt in properly written English, from a genuine English person who studied English at an English University in England:

“Its an Australian accreditaion, and no circus in Australia has live animals, other than domesticated animals, and with our strict animal rights and cruelty laws, no circus would be game to. Our knowledge of language is clearly different, because I’m speaking English. Fair enough, there are some Australian terms that probably make no sense to you, but still, personally attacking someone on the internet (you can go to gaol in some states for that) for expressing a valid opinion?”

Where exactly can one go to gaol for criticising someeone for expressing a valid opinion? This is not the same as “attacking” someone. And besides, it’s your English that’s the problem. Punctuation would help others understand your lengthy rantings better. There is no point in writing something incomprehensible, as the point of writing is to communicate, and this you signally fail to do.

          • Lorrie Morris says:

As an animal activist fighting against the use of any wild animals for the use of “entertainment” and for the profit of humans, I heartily applaud Australia! I am familiar with their laws concerning animal rights and welfare. I only wish the greedy people here in the USA would open their eyes and wipe away the dollar signs. We are FAR behind much of Europe and Australia in this respect.
I volunteer for an exotic wildlife sanctuary in California whose mission it is to rescue abused, sick and injured animals from circuses, inadequate zoos and any other form of imprisonment by human beings.
I also studied English in school and learned how to use our written language properly. It pains me to see someone butcher written words.
But I digress…My stand is that ICHC needs to monitor their videos and see them through the eyes of people who respect animals and not purely for “entertainment” value.
I don’t care what anyone here says about this particular video, it is simply NOT funny or amusing in any way. This is easy to see by the comments of most of the people on this thread.\
            I rest my case…

            • lostinwonderland says:

Wow the sanctuary sounds amazing. we have the RSPCA million paws walk coming up in 2 weeks one of my favourite days of the year, i just wish i had more time to volunteer i had to change careers most of the jobs in the animal industry in Aus is sadly volunteer im now a makeup and SPFX artist. so i dont get alot of free time.

Between the two careers language took the back seat only learning it as far as year 10 diddnt help (ive noticed most makeup artists have bad written word) so i apologise for the bad english. it can really annoy me at times, also i apologise for grammar and spelling its after 3 am i just got home from an extremly long 21hour work day (i do agree they need to monitor a bit better)

  77. Val says:

Animals are just here to amuse us, so all those of you who think owners should take care of their pets and spend money checking out obvious problems are just meany spoilsports.

That’s what far too many of you sound like. If that is what this site’s for, I’m out of here. If, as I first thought when I came across it several years ago, it’s for actual animal lovers, then those who appreciate abuse and neglect of animals should leave.

    It’s as simple as that.

And if the moderators can’t moderate it, they should just close it down.

  78. Mags says:

This is funny, and you know why? Because the cat was reacting to itself touching its belly. Have you cat owners out there ever pet your cats belly and have them attack you? It’s a defense, and a natural reflex. Its obvious that in the video, the cat was starting to clean its belly and its reflex kicked in. It’s probably too stupid to realize it can STOP the reflex.

  79. Morgan says:

dude, catnip. my cat does the weirdest things when high.

  80. sam says:

To whoever posted the video: Screw the idiots who complain and/or suggest you may be a bad person/pet ‘owner’. I’m sure you’re handling the situation appropriately. Besides, regardless of the ailment, it is widely believed that laughter is the best medicine and this is a potent dose. I thank you and wish you well.

  81. Renee says:

I’ve had cats all my life, and never had one behave like that, even when loopy on catnip. It’s very stressed, and I strongly recommend a trip to the vet.

  82. Mama Luigi says:

    I can’t stop laughing xD

  83. Pat says:

I think this kitty has a very frustrating neuroogical condition. Has he seen a vet about it?
