      Metadata is data about data. Metamemory is a memory about a memory. A metalanguage is a language that describes a language.

      So you can see how a hotdog eating a hotdog is “meta”?

      Be careful, though, as meta is also a prefix with Greek origin which does not have the same meaning. Metaphysics is not physics about physics, for example.
