Do you love kittehs? Do you love math? Great! Now you can merge your dual loves together with the best math-nerd-kitteh Halloween costume of all time: the catahedron!

I can think of dozens of uses for this awesome outfit! For example, if your kitteh is an avid Dungeons & Dragons player, he can now use himself as a die! And you could also bring him to school to assist you with your huge presentation on the ancient Egyptian pyramids!

Really wouldn’t be much use as a die, after all, cats always land on their feet!

  12. Math Nerd says:

You get points for turning a tetrahedron into a catahedron. As you know, a regular tetrahedron has four congruent sides that are each equilateral triangles. So the term tetrahedron (or equivalently triangular pyramid) is correct in this case.

But I’m bothered by saying it would be useful for modeling the Egyptian Pyramids. The Egyptian pyramids had square bases and then triangular sides. They would more accurately be called square pyramids. They would not be modeled as a tetrahedron or triangular pyramid. If you did, your math teacher (and your geography teacher) would likely take points off.
