Noo Teknologeez: Cat Door for “Big Boned” Kittehs

Funny Pictures - Big Cat Door

If your fuller-figured cat won’t lay off the Cheezburgers and is finding his old cat door just too small to fit through, fear not! An extra large cat flap is in the works and is being called the “Cat Flap of the Future!” The sliding doors are operated by a paw recognition system and will open to twice the width of normal cat doors. Also, a conveyor belt running from the ground to the door will be included.

We think this is a bit silly but also rather funny in its absurdity. Naturally, the best alternative is to help your kitteh diet so that he can fit through his current cat door. Still, the wonders of technology, amirite?

  14. CaptainObvious says:

I hate to point out the obvious, but how would you get the regular door open if there is a conveyor belt there? Also, if your fat cat can’t get up the stairs to the door, how is it going to go anywhere outside besides the porch?

    • boringTroll says:

Iz trik tu git us tu talk abut ovr feding kittehs. Nut a rel product.

  17. adam says:

also, it looks like a star trek door! that is the real awesomeness for me.

  18. Blargh Carnage says:

Just hope nobody breaks their junk tripping on the conveyor belt. It’d be fun watching someone trying to use this head-injury-esque LOLspeak in a courtroom, though.

(Isn’t that cat a little short for a stormtrooper?)

  19. J says:

My fat cat would lub that but he is never allowed ouside. There are too many cars and the go too fast and he isn’t smart about cars.

  20. Rhonda says:

I think that this is a great idea–not for fat cats; In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s a facetious comment, but for pets AND security. The way this door seals would definitely keep out unwanted visitors, and as someone mentioned, it probably has a chip that goes on the collar of your pet to activate the door. This would be great for arthritic pets who have a hard time climbing stairs and crouching down to enter a conventional door. Remember, though, a healthy cat is ALWAYS indoors.

  21. R says:

Ack, that’s awful. I don’t mind a chubby kitty, being a but chubby myself, but a conveyor belt? Heck no. Walking up the stairs is good for them. Of course, my kitties will never be allowed outside, but that’s beside the point.

Losin’ weight is better for kitties too chubby to get up some stairs and get through a cat door.

  22. Jen says:

Clearly you have never tried to put a cat on a diet. It is an exercise in futility.

  23. Lydia says:

That’d be awesome, since my cat already paws at the door when he wants in or out so it’d be easy to teach him to use it, and it would allow him to use the door without allowing in every stray cat and raccoon/possum in the county.

  24. exhoicat says:

So sorry…indoor cats live longer, especially in suburbs that were built in areas where developers tried to oust coyotes and other carnivores in order to make big bux. It never works. They are still here. If the cats have access to window perches, they seem quite content. And I don’t have to clean them up after they take on the feral toms….

  25. Cat mom says:

The conveyor belt will be great for my elder cat. Er um, the double wides will probably be equally great for my younger cat. Diet, what’s diet? First yum, yum, then treats, then crunchies, then sleep, then more crunchies and treats…. what do you do with your day???

  26. Prior Semblance says:

If the cat needs a conveyer belt, what in the world is it doing outside.

The door alone would be neat, the jumbo size + silly belt is what ruins it.

  27. St3v3f says:

Captain, there is… something in jeffries tube alpha section 31 on deck 14. Its ripping apart all the plasma conduits. Core breach imminent

  29. EmissaryOfLoki says:

I like this door. I wish it had been available for the Maine Coon Cat who owned me. He was large. In his prime, he weighed in at a whopping 32 pounds. And, the vet said that he was perfectly healthy and at a good weight. Now, he waits for me at the Rainbow Bridge.

  30. Catlady5 says:

Not funny Scotty. ..now let me in.

  31. SS says:
