As for #5, you tell the 3 youngest cats in my house that they are purely carnivores…they eat the vegetables that my 15 month old daughter throws on the floor! Broccoli seems to be their favorite.
I’ve watched them munch on asparagus, potatoes, carrots, green beans, Brussel sprouts, tomatoes, mushrooms. They’re my little vacuum cleaners, lol. Not sure why, there’s plenty of dry & soft cat food to go around.

Cats are easier to keep in large cities/densely populated areas.
I know exactly which of my neighbors have dogs – I can hear them barking every time I open my windows – but I don’t know which neighbors have cats. Cats don’t bark, they don’t need to be walked, and many are indoor-only, so I don’t even know they are there.

i don’t think it’s true. i saw a thing a while back that said more people own dogs than cats, but since cat people are more likely to own multiple cats, the cats still outnumber the dogs.

We’re not hating on dogs, we’re just promoting cats. Defining qualities that make cats and dogs different doesn’t necessarily promote one or the other as the better pet. Why do some people like chocolate ice cream better than strawberry?

That’s a rather biased study towards dogs, they should also inculde that: Cats are generally cheaper to maintain than dogs, easier to look after, they can see in the dark, dogs cannot. This is from personal experience and from a show I watched that compared the two on various things.
AGREED. A dog is waaaaay more expensive! and way, way waaaaaaay more trouble! and I say this as a dog owner.
And large dogs are cheaper? REALLY? I highly doubt =/ I also doubt that dog owners are healthier D: If anything, it’s the other way around!
Small dogs tend to live a lot longer than big/giant dogs, by 5-8 years, so therefore they would cost more. That’s the same reasoning behind outdoor cats being so much less expensive than indoor cats: indoor cats generally outlive outdoor cats by about 3x.
You forget that cats can see in color while dogs are for the most part color-blind. (dogs percieve color in much more muted tones.)
I don’t believe #9. There are lots of household cleaners that remove urine smell (even of smelly dogs too).

there is so much stuff wrong here… 1: cats have been domesticated for 9500 years 2: cats have almost as good smelling as dogs… not only like… 10% 3:people with cats have a better effect on humans than dogs do… in both ways…(see #11) AND cats can be omnivores… but in the wild and most indoor/outdoor cats are only carnivore.
The reason is that cats waited until they mankind was civilized enough to be of use to them…..they’re still not 100% sure.
