Aftur a fire broke owt in an Austrian zoo, firefighters saved teh lives of 4 giant tortoises bai strapping hoomin oxygen masks ontew their heads. Teh tortoises suffered smoke inhalatshun, but will most likely fully recover due 2 teh hoomins’ clever rescoo:
“We expect them to make a full recovery,” vet Isabella Eberle told CEN. “The masks were designed for human use but we managed to make them fit.”

These are tortoises, not turtles. There’s a difference. Turtles have flippers, tortoises have legs.

I can’t decide if people calling them “tertles” is just part of lolspeak, or if the majority of people on the internet seriously can’t tell the difference between a turtle and a tortoise. I have to presume the former for my own sanity, especially seeing as even the ICHC post calls the tortoises once in the title and three more times in the description.
