TOTALLY agree and only came to the comment section to say so myself when I found your comment. As great as this site is, sometimes it encourages abuse of animals, intentional or not, just to get a “great picture”. Not sure what to do about that other than incorporate some careful moderating of incoming photos.
I hate to say this because I suspect many will then discount anything else I have to say, but I REALLY can’t stand people. (in general)

Glad to hear others agree that staged pictures that abuse or make animals stressed just to get on here should be banned. (this includes excessive use of catnip)
This site is supposed to be about enjoying the natural antics of animals. I think the moderators should err on the side of “when in doubt, leave it out”.

I’m really starting to get disgusted by this site and some of the pictures that are allowed through. I know this one isn’t horrible, but it’s the amount of them that’s worrisome. They should have a “report this” button or something similar so those of us who actually care about the welfare of animals can voice our opinion. I guess the next step is to stop coming to the ichc family of sites and just leave them to the sickos out there.
I’ve sent an email to LOL Catz to protest this stupid picture. It is animal abuse, pure and simple. One should not stuff a kitten in a tennis ball tube to snap a picture for others to LOL at. It’s simply NOT funny!!
Two days later and they have yet to acknowledge the request to remove this picture.

It might be funny had the kitten chosen to put itself in this tube. But, as a general rule, kittens do not crawl backward into tight spaces like this. This kitten was put in this tube, against its will. And how many times did they have to reposition the tube after it fell over with the kitten trying to get out or push the kitten back down in it to get this staged picture? It’s cruelty and nothing less. I, for one, will not sit silently and watch animals be abused. You have my deepest sympathies for not developing that much of a conscience.
I’ve emailed PETA and ICHC to do whatever it takes to remove this picture.
YES, let’s ALL send e-mails to protest this pictures and the few others like it that sometimes appear! It won’t stop unless we make it stop!

This isn’t even funny. Stuffing a kitten into a tube, just to take a picture is incredibly stupid.
Get a life.
Some people should not be allowed to own pets. How stupid and very sad!
This belongs on DERP, as in the person who posted this must have derped, thinking the people at ICHC would think an unoriginal shoop inspired by Bonsai Kittens (trust me, do not go there!) would find this funny.
