You probably know this already but cats prefer running water to stagnant water for a good reason. In nature, running water (i.e., from streams) tends to be cleaner than stagnant water which might be polluted. At least before the days of factories dumping their waste in water!
Mai kittehs have watters in teh kitchen an in teh bedroom but dey wants mai watters insted. Eben if mai watters has lemming in it.

Yes, cat can swin, but most cats dont like to get wet. Also, I think anybody falling like that would panick, even if he/she knew how to swim, but most of us here have seen cats trying to drink from the tub. The saying “curiosity killed the cat” is really very, very true.

One of our pet rats once took a dive in the aquarium while we had him explore with us the fish tank on the bar table; suddenly he dove down to the bottom with his eyes open, I grabbed him immediately and took him out; amazingly, he was all dry and wasn’t shocked as we were.
That’s because rats are amazing swimmers lol. He was probably just having fun!

What are you talking about, “let”? Have you ever owned a cat? Cats do what they want! you’re probably the type of fretful neurotic who constantly hovers around her cat and renders it a nervous wreck because of her constant hand-wringing. People like you shouldn’t be allowed to have pets.
My cat did this one time too (note:one time). She was sauntering oh-so-casually around the edge of the tub and her back paws slipped into the water… I didn’t know cat’s eyes could GET that big!

I don’t think the cat was pushed. And I suspect the camera was present to record the cat’s drinking habit. It’s even possible that the cat has fallen in before and the camera was at hand to record it just in case.
If the kitty even for a second had his head under water, I’d share the concerns of others. However, while kitties generally dislike being wet, it’s nor scarring or anything. All evidence suggests it just infuriates them and causes them to plot their humans’ demise. As others have said, in this cat’s mind, it was ALL their human’s fault.
Aside from severe embarrassment, I don’t see any harm done.
My cat did this on the hot tub. Stay out of the way of flailing ball of fur and claws.

Awww, poor baby, he is so scared, but he’s okay…a pet psychic friend of mine said that the reason why cats hate water is: IT MESSES UP THE ‘DO!!!
My cat loves to walk along the edge of the tub when i take a bath. Or he will get in the tub and play or sleep when there is no water. Once as a kitten, he fell in the tub. I tried to help him get out, and my arms and legs got shredded by his claws. I learned to just let the cat figure it out on how to get out of the tub. I have also filled the tub with water before getting in, to have the cat go running into the bathroom thinking he was going to play in the empty tub. It was not until he was mid leap into the tub he realized there was water inside. He was able to somehow magically reverse direction in mid air and did not land in the tub.

we have an out-door shower, and my cat tangerine loves to come up as close as she can to the running water and try to lick it… or just generally hang around when the water is running. and she frolics around the hose when its running. she loves being around water, and even likes the occasional splash, but full submersion would freak her out.
