These otters look very stressed and behaving unnatural. They should swim and be focusedupon each other and what is in the water. Not running around so restless with continuous yelling, maling noise. Poor animals.
They are excited because they are getting a special treat! It’s natural for ALL animals to become excited when they know a special treat is on its way. Jeeze, haven’t you ever seen a human child get excited at the prospect of an ice cream cone? Have you never experienced excitement at the prospect of an ice cream cone yourself? The otters are just more honest about their emotions than most adult humans! *headdesks*
Yes, swimming in free and wild in a river contaminated with chemical runoff and sewage and trash such as plastic rings from six packs while dodging the blades of motorboats and confronting wandering dogs on shore is a much healthier lifestyle, yes?
There’s nothing wrong with this behavior. Otters spend time on land and water. I’m sure they have a big pool to swim in. They’re just at the edge of their enclosure because they see something they want and are demanding the human drop it.
I’m dying to know what it was they wanted so bad.
they’re otters not fish. they have water to swim in, they’re just not interested right now. They’re partly domesticated because they live in a zoo. Cats used to be wild you know. Nobody is dressing these otters up in bonnets and taking them to the mall in a tiny handbag

My kitteh also had a freak-out attack at the sound and she hid her head UNDER my grown up kitteh and freaked HIM out. LOL. Wish I could describe it. My tummy is hurtin from the silliness. LOL.
I LOVE otters! It made me wish I had the foods to give them. I saw a video the other day with an otter juggling rocks on it’s chest like they do with food but this was for fun. THAT was cute too.
