What my mom does is more interesting than that! After brushing our cat, she’ll take the fur & make little felted balls out if it. Her hands tend to get rough cuz she doesn’t like to put lotion on them and that helps form the kittehballz. I told her she should make them different sizes and make a necklace. LOL!

molting is the American spelling, in a natural movement for more normal use of the Latin alphabet.
indeed, molting or moulting are both correct, just as center or centre, theater or theatre, favor or favour are all correct. apparently mr_slair’s education apparently didn’t include dictionary usage or that it’s poor form to give grammar/spelling lessons when you don’t know wtf you’re talking about.
In UK and down under and other U-loving places it is m-o-u-l-t-i-n-g, but in USA and other such U-neglecting places it is m-o-l-t-i-n-g.
Just one of the many differences among people in the world, and it’s ok.

Uh, the United States spelling is “molting.” The U K spelling is “moulting.” Cultural differences, not poor spelling.
