    Whut’s he feedin kitteh tho?

    • Tarantino says:

That’s my fear too.. he’s so skinny, and cats are meat eaters, primates/monkeys aren’t..

      • Consternatio says:

Actually, most monkeys are meat eaters, including the long tailed macaque (mostly crab, shrimps and frogs, but they’ll eat other small mammals if they can catch them).

        • Joost Pieter says:

Long Tailed macagues do not eat meat that contains blood. I have 6 long tailed macaques as pets. They do not eat frogs or anything bigger than a grasshopper and certainly will not eat crab, despite there name!

    • barbara says:

I no well, teh kittehs can catch der own cheezburgers! My kittehs can has bunnyburgers, meecesburgers and birdyburgers.

  13. Liziane says:

dont you all think it implies that sometimes animals are much more humans than the human race itself?

    i do think so… *_*

  14. Sgtpepperandjujube says:

Dis ifone not easee. Iz ment slurpify.

  15. Tidmum says:

    that is soooo skweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeful!!!!

  16. Orangello says:

That is cool, but i wonder if the monkey knows what kittens eat. I hope so. The orange, it is irresistable.

  17. DYANNLYNN says:

Breathtaking! Thanks for sharing this sweet vignette of remarkable compassion. It’s incredible how easily animals seem to feel empathy & kindness toward one another – regardless of species! Your offering is yet another charming example of their ability to love across species.

We could learn much from our furry friends!

    Thanks again,

    DyannLynn

  18. yodaya says:

Just read an article claiming that liking/loving/having an interest in other species is a unique human trait.
Another illusion about human’s uniqueness in the animal kingdom shattered?

  19. pk4whatever says:

Um, I’m not too sure the kitten is too fond of it after a while.

  20. deejay says:

Having lately watched a ‘romantic’ episode between a monkey and an unfortunate toad, I’m thinking this isn’t as ‘sweet and precious’ as it looks, and, it looks like that cat would really, really, really like to get away!

  21. Fat Betty says:

I am worried about Kitty. I am not sure this is a good arrangement. It is obvious the monkey loves him and wants to care for him like a baby but it worries me for poor kitty. :-(

  22. erik teh lolcat says:

aww…. (has gawt no wurds to sai)

  23. Nina says:

    Awz! Hao cyoot!

  24. Joanne says:

I think the cat is very ill – its ears are full of mites, it is very thin, and it looks lethargic. This is not as sweet as we would like to imagine.

    • May says:

At least better than left strayed alone

    • Nic says:

Chances are that its a stray. Most stray cats have all of those problems, so you can’t say its the monkey doing it to the kitten. Even if it were on its own it would be in that situation. At least in this case it has a kind of guardian watching out for it.

    • jess says:

For crying out, the cat is outside and IT’S a CAT. It can and will get away when it feels it’s necessary. Ever tried to make a cat eat something it didn’t want to eat or hold one that doesn’t want to be held? No ape is going to accomplish any more than you. Granted it’s not going to take care of a kitten like we do (well, like most of us hopefully do), but it certainly isn’t giving him mites. Kitty is probably gaining more from the love (or warmth) of the ape than it would by itself, and as soon as the cat wants away, or to hunt for something meaty, it will.

    • Joanne says:

I know the cat is a stray, and I DID NOT say the monkey gave ear mites to the kitten *sign* (please read). I have seen sick and unhealthy kittens full of fleas that are anemic and completely lethargic, and it is a consequence of living outdoors.
I mean to say that we should take off our rose-coloured glasses and see the image as it is, and the image provokes sadness in me, not joy.

      • Lisa says:

Humans are notorious for projecting cutesy feelings onto animal situations. We need to realize we may not know what is truly going on.

      • Wiener says:

I mean to say that we should take off our rose-coloured glasses and see the image as it is, and the image provokes sadness in me, not joy.

Thank you for saying this, I was getting annoyed with all the mindless ‘so cuuuute’ comments, I found it sad too. That cat is obviously in a bad situation with no human to take care of it. People seem to think a cat can live outdoors just fine and ‘chatch it’s own cheeseburger’ *rollseyes* but that is not true. They barely scrape by and are most often diseased, they are domesticated after all and not wild cats, they aren’t as well equipped to take care of themselves. Plus that cat is very young and the monkey isn’t going to feed it anything.

  25. Tyler M. says:

    It’s Rafiki and Simba!

  26. katikuykuy says:

    shoooo cuuuttteee!!

  27. wuxie says:

Does anyone really think this kitten looks happy???

  28. Luke says:

    I live in Bali!

  29. specialk says:

A mother’s love knows no bounds

  30. RULE 34 says:

    NO EXCEPTIONS

  31. Unknown says:

The cat doesn’t look happy. It looks like it’s trying to get away. . .

  32. Orangello says:

After reading a bit more about the area & situation, i am glad the kitten got some hugs, regardless of how permanent the care was.

  33. Heidi says:

Maybe the kitten isn’t looking very happy but she can get away anytime from there so why is there in the pic together with the monkeys? Because the kitten wants so,lol. No cat will ever remain in a place where she’s not feeling well.

  34. Cal says:

These monkeys are actually jerks (to tourists). They will steal from you and attack you. Just be careful when you visit Bali and stay away from these monkeys.

  35. luvthatkat says:

Maybe kitteh is fraid of camera too? he looks scared.

  36. coolcookie says:

That so-called “faborit” comment is bogus! Kittehs luv to be luved! Sweetness of flukes of nachur trump grumpy. Even if hooman finks monkees r unplezant.

  37. gia says:

Frankly, I don’t think these pictures are particularly cute. I am sure the monkey is very loving, but that’s a cat, not a little monkey, and it’s not getting adequate care. The animal does not look good and responsible authorities should get the kitten away from the monkey and put it in a shelter. With the media coverage this has gotten I am sure humans capable of taking care of a kitten would rush to adopt it.

  38. elle says:

anybody else see jackass? macaque likes kittens.

  39. Were says:

kitteh doesn’t look very healthy, does he?

i can’t believe that so many ppl find this cute or funny. kitteh is trying to escape, but is too weak and exausted. (it’s not a kitteh in fact, it’s almost adult cat. look at his proportions..) . And when it comes to “mother’s love”..come on..it’s just an animal instinct.
    People should have helped poor kitteh ;_;

  40. Aliya de indonesia girl says:

i live at indonesia but… i don’t live at bali, i live at jakarta

  41. Moose says:

Well, at least the monkey knows that butt support is one of the most important things cats need! As seen in pic 4.

  42. He sure does love his pet kitten.
