Such a kyootie patootie kitteh an Ai lubs da Tribble eppi sowd ob Star Twek.
And here’s some information into that episode for you. David Gerrold who wrote that episode (he’s the author of the War against the Chtorr series of books) has said that he attempted to get a cameo role in the episode, but for some reason couldn’t. However for the Deep Space Nine version of the tale – “Trials and Tribblelations” they actually put him into the episode walking along the corridor of the old Enterprise.
Win!
I met David Gerrold. He’s an EPIC WIN. I loved him.
Come on Star Trek fans. It wasn’t the Klingons that were afraid of the tribbles…it was the Romulans!! The Romulans resemble Vulcans and the Romulan spy was surgically altered to look like a human. When Capt. Kirk held the tribbles in front of the human looking Romulan, the tribbles reacted and the Romulan jerked back from them. OMG my nerdness is showing!!
Oh, no sir. You are incorrect. The Klingons are scared off tribbles. (Well, the tribbles didn’t like them and the Klingons were probably more freaked out than scared by them) Okay, I real nerd would know this. Oh, and I am a nerd, I went to the convention I know, so yeah, it was Klingons. Romulans didn’t even show up in the original series. They were mentioned many times, but they never were shown on camera. (At least from the episodes I seen which is like all but three) And if they were Romulans why would McCoy say, “Jim, this man is a Klingon!” or why would Scotty say, “I beamed them over to the Klingon ship… where they’ll be no tribble at all” So yeah, next time you attempt to act like a cool nerd who knows everything, beware of true trekkies who will tell you whats what.
You r absolutlee rite about Tribbles vs. Klingons, dey hayted each odder.
But there were a couple of episodes in TOS that featured Romulans…and I’ve forgotten the titles. Mark Lenard, who played Spock’s father, Sarek in a later episode, played the Romulan captain in an episode that ran in the first season of the series.
There was another one, in a later season, where Mr. Spock sort of seduced a female Romulan commander, played by Joan Linville, as a distraction so Kirk (disguised as a Romulan) could sneak into the ship and steal the Cloaking Device….
Aifinkso.
“Balance of Terror” introduced the Romulans, and
“The Enterprise Incident” was the one where Kirk stole the Cloaking device.
The Romulan ship was also seen in the episode “The Deadly Years”, but they weren’t important to the story.
I meant they weren’t like an alien race that was in multiple episodes. They were like a filler race. TNG really hit on the Romulans. Okay, I know they were in TOS not to mention Saavik from The Wrath Of Khan was half Vulcan and half Romulan. I know I totally said it wrong in the top comment. My bad. But Romulans weren’t in the Tribble episode. That was my main point.
omg mah frend ish a hyooge trekky, shed luv 2 c this!
they may have been beamed over to the klingon ship, but the spy was a Romulan
I sent this LOL to a friend who can forward it to David Gerrold. He’s a cat fan from way back. He also adopted the Heinlein’s cat, Pixel, when Mrs. Heinlein moved to Florida, but Pixel ran away.
Spider Robinson moved him to Florida (fictionally) and inserted him into the last two “Callahan’s Place” novels.
Ah em gee, mah goggie waz named tribble
he was adorabuuuwww.
I think that only people who have watched star trek get this.
Iz it detectin introodrs too? Qapla!
