Hey Ambercat, not sure what you mean by me not keeping my word. This went up at 1pm, not at a LOL-hour. Did something go wrong?
That is the issue… the last lol went up at noon, and we’re currently in the middle of an alphabet list. The next one is due at three, but now this cartoon-thing has interrupted our focus, shows up at the top of the home page pretending to be the current lol, and our filter buttons are gone so we can’t even choose to see only the captioned lols to know which is the currently active one.
The “around the interwebs” post with the plate full of fish showed up one minute before the real lol at noon, so it neither detracted from the previous lol (giving us a chance to finish commenting on it) nor showed up above the next lol to detract from its focus. So that one was acceptable, but this one creates the kind of confusion we complained about.

The problem of new posts interrupting existing captioned lols will only be fixed by the new filtering system we’re working on. In my letter, I promised to keep the captioned lols at the same times as before. I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that I’m keeping my promises and some promises, like not adding lols and uncaptioned pics together, etc. happens now, but the harder ones like a better filtering system will take a bit longer.
BTW, the not-so-perfect filtering links should be back now.

Where would one find this letter that you wrote? I’ve been wondering what has happened to the “way it used to be”, and now I see people are commenting on “not real lols” and specific posting times and I would like to know about these things!

You said the captioned LOLs would be at the regular times; the previous two LOLs were just an hour apart, and then this one. All the people you talked to said this disrupts our conversations – nothing has changed. There have been Gawd knows how many postings today – I’ve got an honours degree and I can’t tell which are the real LOLs and where my cheezfrends are!

Unless we have confusion with the definition of what a captioned lol, is, we are absolutely keeping our word. But like I have said before, the real solution is a better filtering system, which we’re working on now.

I’m on crutches right now. For the first part of my recovery, one of our cats stayed in the hall all the time. I guess she didn’t get in my way enough for her tastes, since a couple of weeks later she moved to the bedroom doorway. I guess that still wasn’t inconvenient enough, because she’s now camping out in front of the bathroom door.
Heh. My Tuffy did that when I was on crutches. He’d walk just ahead of me in teh narrow hallway and stop every now and then to contemplate individual fibers in teh carpet. I realized that he did that so I would learn to balance on one foot and one crutch so I could gently nudge him wif teh other crutch. How considerate of him!

I don’t know if what Milky does is better or worse. She just lays there. About the time I find a way to maneuver around her (or over her, in some cases), she decides that this time, I’m serious about getting into the bathroom, so she bolts, usually in the direction that a crutch or a foot was headed.
