Yesh- /cheezspeak off. Being around something you’re allergic to constantly works in the same way an allergy shot does–it desensitizes you to the allergen. My first cat, Rosie, adopted us when I was four, and I got sneezy from her. She wasn’t allowed in our bedrooms, or on our beds. Fast-forward many years, and my current cat, Zoe, sleeps with me (sometimes on me) and I don’t get sneezy or itchy eyes or anything. They’re both shorthair, though. Longhaired cats tend to make me more sneezy.
When I moved here, he was a mess for awhile. Now, elebentee years later not even a sniff out of him.
