I hope this kitty did not hurt himself. It really wasn’t funny because he seemed to make a noise of distress when he hit the floor. Why do people consider this amusing?

And I’m certain that kitten wasn’t harmed one bit. Well, maybe his ego got a little bruised. heheheh
And I say that, having two little kittens of my own right now, who get into all sorts of rough housing, trouble, and mayhem. They’re tough little critters, and something like dropping off of a table isn’t going to hurt them.
If you go to the YouTube page, the kittehs owner says he’s perfectly fine, and he actually -can- make this jump… :3
Also, if jumping off the table hurt kittehs, then mine would be long gone. But she’s not, and celebrated her 8th birthday last month. :3
It looks like the kitten’s back paws slipped when they attempted to push off from the table. As a result, they only had a small ammount of thrust and so plummeted like Howard’s Hugh’s sainity
I had the same reaction. That sure sounded like a yowl of distress to me (before the guy chuckled). I was also afraid something was really wrong with the kitten that made him unable to jump, but on re-watching it’s clear that it was just the slick table that foiled the poor kitty.

Though his ego might have gotten a little bruised. heheh Any sounds you may hear after the kitten falls are the guy holding the video camera chuckling in a wheezy sort of fashion.

I am shocked by the number of people that believe a kitten can get hurt from falling off a table. :/ My GERBILS have taken falls of that sort (not at any fault from me, they think it’s alright to jump off my bed or whatever surface they are on if I take my eyes off them for two seconds), and while I freaked out for a bit, they weren’t hurt at all. :/ A cat can CERTAINLY handle falls like that.
