A $500 Cat Dress? Say Wut?

funny cat pictures

Yes, you really can buy a $500 cat dress for your favorite kitteh. Your kitteh can hit the catwalk with a layered black taffeta dress or a blue shirt and black skirt, with a bowed belt. There is even a matching outfit for the hoominz. After all your efforts of making your kitteh fashionable, you might just end up with an extremely angry kitteh and a shredded up $500 dress that will end up in the trash can.

Caption these fashionable kittehs urself!

I’m sure my cat would wear it, but my wife would remove my arm if I attempted to BUY it.

    • boringTroll says:

United Bamboo duz nut expect anywun tu bai dese. Iz a marketing gimmick, a publicity stunt, almost performance art. Dey iz bwain wishing us. Wen hoomins tink of desinger cloth, we wil tink of United Bamboo. Iz twick.

  4. Tuck says:

Agreed. I personally think it is pathetic when these animals are dressed up like either of these pictures. Clothing is to protect us from the elements. Dogs and cats are quite happy with just their fur, and do not need any more covering.

  5. janne says:

Eifer of my kittehs would prubably wears a $500 dress… but unly furs an instence, aftur that they’d bes wearing rugs…..wifiut getting changeds!

  6. Maz says:

Those clothes look ridiculous. My kitties have better taste than that. And they don’t need no fancy clothes to look fab.

  7. kitteh of teh walk says:

My cat would have never allowed her pretty paws to be forced into that thing. There would have been blood, hair, fur, and claws….and the EMTs would take one look at the cat, look at the dress, look at me…and say “yup she deserved it”

  8. A.C. Aldag says:

My kids used to dress their kittehs in doll clothes, stuff them into G.I. Joe Jeeps, push them around in baby carriages. So yeah, the kittycats would wear those outfits, for the kids’ sake. But they’d not be happy about it!

    • gia says:

Maybe you should’ve taught your kids that cats are not Barbies? They’re probably lucky their faces and eyes are still intact.

  9. ful says:

Cat are not made to wear clothes. Do yo crap in a box in the kitchen ?

  10. I don’t even spend that much on my clothes.

  11. Beryllium says:

Those are some baggy unattrative clothes, even by “clothes for your pets” standards. For $500 I expect my cat to look like Lady Gaga once the bleeding stops.

  12. Gretgor says:

Paying 500 bucks to dress your CAT is a sign of mental retardation.

  13. TheLori says:

I don’t even spent that kind of money on myself. To waste that kind of money on cat clothes is just short of criminal in my book, when you think of all the GOOD that money could be put to.

  14. Fluwyn says:

I would prefer to leave my cat with some dignity (so would the cat), and spend the money on some nice cat furniture in stead :-)

    • ottilia says:

same my maine coone likes peace and i don’t think he would like me if i put a $500 dress on HIM! :)

    • Hiulgrin says:

Would be some palace for your cat ;)
I’m building a scratchingpost bridging the door and spent about 50Euro on matterials (pluche, glue, nuts, bolts & rope, the rolls and the wood are recycled) Why spend a fortune if you can DIY

  15. Madailein says:

I’d come out with two limbs less– one to pay for the thing and one a casualty of trying to put it on the cat.

  16. alexes says:

my cat would only wear those clothes if she didn’t mind us getting evicted for not paying the rent

  17. Oscarr says:

No wai ai wud let mah kitteh weah dis. Is awfuhl..

  18. faythkitteh says:

    I agree with Oscarr.

  19. Markitteh says:

I couldn’t even THINK of spending $500 on clothes for the cat. Can’t afford to even think of spending that much on clothes for my family.

  20. SteveWithAZ says:

I consider dressing pets in clothing no sane human (let alone an animal with no need for clothing) would be caught dead in to be a form of animal cruelty — and my cats agree.

  21. Orinj kitteh wud go “meh stoopid hoomin trick agen. OK wotevah. Fuds nao?” Gray kitteh wud go shred shred shred shred shred sproing NAKEEEE!!!!! Fluffy kitteh wud go wiggle wiggle wiggle run awaaaay!

Also, I would not be so stupid as to a) buy it or b) try it on them.

  22. speckled trout says:

No…. I’m not stupid enough to waste $500 on anything for my cat short of emergency surgery!

  23. Iris says:

Sure, my cat would wear it, if my son put it on him. Then he’d roll in the catnip garden, climb a tree, chase the dog through the bushes…..

  24. leena1 says:

my kitteh would just sit there and not move with a realy grumpy face on

  25. HerpDerpKitteh says:

Oh, I’m sure my cat is chill enough to wear those, but I’m not retarded enough to that to her. Dressing your animals is just stupid.

  26. kittiekat says:

$500 for cat clothes? that’s insane! go donate that money to a charity for a better use of your money.

  27. ohmikeghod says:

It would take the S.W.A.T. team, a full squad of Navy Seals, and another Squad of Rangers to get my cat to wear one of those, and I would wonder about their survival. They ain’t seen terrorism on the level my kittehs can dish out when they are pissed.

    • siobhan says:

i think our cats must be related somehow ;)
there are days i think a hurricane went through my flat after my cats had their “5 minutes” *g*
i just try to figure out if getting to know some men in uniform would be worth the 500 bucks and the severe injuries… maybe it would… ;)

    • Trezcat says:

You would need four squads of Marines and several Blackhawk helicopters to rescue those men from your cats.

  28. Maestra says:

1.Cats don’t need clothes when God gave them beautiful fur coats!
    2. My cats are boys….
    3. Husband would have me committed (and rightfully so)
    4. I think ICHC has been smoking a bit of catnip

  29. RC says:

If they were heavily sedated, I would dress them, take pics, and undress them before they recovered conciousness

  30. BunnySlippers says:

Oh, I could get it on either of them all right, but then I would have to deal with the results of them tearing it off and the peeing in/on everything I own…….

  31. BlueHorse says:

If you have too much disposable income and absolutely must be stupid and dress your cat, why can’t you buy a $15 outfit your cat will hate, and donate the rest to Spay and Neuter or a rescue.

Please, won’t someone think of teh poor kittehs? (Teh 1s wif no cloths or fud.)

    • bookworm65t says:

Going to comment but you said it best. me kittehs want moar cheezburgers and katnip than a friggin’ dress.

  32. KatieLouWho says:

My cat would wear it but think it was the heaviest dress in the world. There would be belly dragging and whining.

  33. Rainpelt says:

my cats wud wear it but they wud try to get out of it and fail

  34. SinRose says:

I would NEVER EVER EVER put this on my cat. It’s embarrassing to both human and cat kind. Also… $500!!!??? wtf? WTF!? YOUR CAT LOVES YOU! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO HER!?

  35. TheyAreMyNobleMasters says:

The newest line would be made out of kevlar in order to survive longer than 10 minutes. And the matching human outfit would need chain mail to survive the kitty’s wrath. But I think we are all kitteh-whipped enough to know better.

  36. Ana says:

no, i wouldnt, cause i actually LIKE my kittehs…….

  37. mooster says:

Sum humons hab no sense ob humor. Izn it possible dat money wuz razed in auction an gibbed to cat charity with most generus donors getting dresses? I dunno, but wud assume so. Mai kittehs wud hab to see duh label an nose da histry befor considring wut to ware.

  38. Gerrie says:

What moron would spend $500.00 on a cat dress – especially if your cat’s a male? Instead of a stupid dress I buy my cats the best quality cat food which might actually help them live longer and lots of toy “meeses”

  39. Stella_tigre says:

***I*** dont own a $500 dress. Not ebben my weddin dress(es). An when I give monies to charities it doesnt have silly merchandize attached. foo.

  40. Paul says:

i haz a basement cat. if i tried putting that on the basement cat, it would be on me. shredded. along with my limbs.

  41. Silvawolves says:

I have been too well trained by my cat to even consider putting her in a n outfit of any kind.

  42. Db says:

My cat is alreddy wearing a $500 outfit, tank you.

  43. smiddenkidden says:

it would take an extreme amount of sedation and pain medication….for both of us to get mah kitteh into this. not that she’d wear it, she’s more hippie chic than haute couture. i have to admit though, once, when she was little, i had a kitty version of glamour shots done. i worked at a pet store and they were doing them, so i thought what the heck. turned out cute….got girly ones where she’s batting at a strand of pearls under a lacy parasol and some really cute ones where she’s in a terracotta pot, peeking out….and a few where she’s peeking out of a jack o lantern….it was fall, after all, and she’s a black cat. ….i felt bad even doing that to her, but she’s one of those cats that will curl up in your lap 45 seconds after being mortally offended by you, so it was all good. i bought her extra treats to make up for putting her through the humiliation. also, the pics were free for me since i was an employee….i wouldn’t spend $500 on myself, not to mention my cat though i love her dearly.

  44. Nil says:

How about no because it would be a total waste of money because a cat is not a person and shouldn’t be wearing clothing?

  45. Hierophantria says:

I would never dress up any of my babies. I’m sure they’d like to keep what dignity they still have. The closest they get are their collars.

  46. catlol.burger says:

I HATE DRESSED UP ANIMALS WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =(

  47. LadyD says:

    Hell no!

Cats have fur, they’re not supposed to wear clothes. If anyone feels the need to dress their cat, I’ll feel the need to assume that person is nuts. Plus, five hundred dollars? My cat’s had dental surgery which cost less!

  48. Jolie says:

I don’t see anything on this picture that warrant’s 500 dollars. I made better barbie doll dresses out of knee socks… When I was five… And only had safety pins to hold them together.

  49. Liennae says:

I could probably get my cat into it, but then, he’s used to me being a pest for no particular apparent reason. (He pesters me, it’s only fair to pester back.) How long it would stay on depends on how much wearing it annoys him.

However, having a male cat, and more sense than to spend 500$ on a cat dress, I would not put him in that. Halloween costume for 15$…mebbe.

  50. Duo says:

I wouldn’t lose limbs or skin, but WHY? WHY would you dress up a pet? Especially a cat? That’s just pathetic on the humans’ part. Seriously. XD

  51. Varev says:

my kitteh runs awai thru the hool hous till im tired

  52. Amy says:

That would be one expensive pile of shreds by the time my kitteh was done with it :P

  53. gitte says:

My kittehs look fab just the way they are!

  54. gia says:

Buying clothes for a short-haired dog to wear during freezing winters when you walk them is justifiable.

Giving 500 bucks for this rag that a cat does not need and probably will make it uncomfortable to move is downright repulsive – better give these money to charity and feed a bunch of hungry children. Or other cats.

  55. ariane says:

Dressing animals, any animals, in unnecessary clothes (I’m not talking about warm sweaters for shorthaired dogs, I’m talking about crap like this and cutesy-poo hats, and wigs for cats, and doggie earrings) to my mind is demeaning and demonstrates a startling lack of reality on the part of the owner. Buy a dollie, have a child, do whatever…but don’t dress your dog or cat in motorcycle leathers that cost 800 bucks a crack or a ballet tutu.

I agree with everyone who says, donate that cash to a shelter and get a life.

    • Cool for Katz says:

      100% agree.

    • Ferret says:

Yeah. I have a male cat so dresses are totally out with no exceptions whatsoever. I bet he would look adorable in a suit and tie, or possibly a hot-topic-esque outfit, but he would hate wearing it so I’d never do it.

  56. tiffany says:

a $500 dress for a cat just proves that some people have more $$ than brains, and should be removed from the gene pool. i’ve seen very nice wedding dresses that didn’t cost that much.

and amen to the “donate that cash to a shelter and get a life.”

  57. Spiffy says:

Teh samurai outfit is dashing. However, if I tried to put one on my kitteh, he would roll over on his back and look pathetic until I took it off. :<

  58. Kris says:

Other: if I tried to put that thing (or anything in general for that matter) on my cat she would walk sideways, fall over and lie there till I got it off her. So no. It looks incredibly stupid anyways. Who would buy that thing? O.o

  59. Some1 says:

Okay, I would NEVER put on something like that on my cat. Even though my cat is basementanic, no cat deserves that.

  60. bunny says:

ai wudnt put a kitti in dis!

  61. kittehkat says:

My cat is fat and lazy so he just doesen’t care.

But i still probably wouldnt waste 500$ onz a kitteh dress anywayz. XD

  62. psychethos says:

I’ve attempted to put some item of clothing on my kitteh a few times, purely for purposes of warmth (as she is a hairless kitteh and it gets cold in our house during the winter). However, her reaction tends to be that she just stands there wobbling for a few minutes, until she unceremoniously falls over onto her side, and then just lies there looking at me with a dejected expression on her face.

  63. miranda says:

The dress wouldn’t survive if i tried to put it on my cat, I probably wouldn’t either.

  64. miranda says:

my cat would HATE me for life if i put this on him! also i would lose several limbs as well as both my eyes and the dress would be no more

  65. lineswine says:

What sort of nutter wants to cover up a beautiful coat of fur in the 1st place?
If you want to play dress up, get a Barbie.

  66. Isabelle says:

my cat would wear it for a minute, realize it’s uncomfortable, then poop on my bed.

  67. Ellu says:

I would never ever dress up my cat! Cats, or any other animals, are not dolls…

  68. ottilia says:

my cat would just run away like always!
    lol=D

  69. lol's are life says:

my cat would wear it if i used a heavy seditive

  70. Boots says:

*If* I survived putting this outfit on my cat, it would be with roughly 50% of my skin and 0% of my self-respect.

  71. A says:

WHY would someone do this to a cat? …and I think it’s just sad. Poor cats.

  72. furnleif says:

Mi kitty wuld rip eet to shredz. Waste o moniez.

  73. electricsquiral says:

My cat wouldn’t like me putting it on him, and he would just sit and sulk afterward.

  74. Anonymouse says:

Other: I would come out with one FEWER limb. :D

But that aside, a.) the clothes are unfabulous anyway, b.) dressing a cat. ‘nuf said. c.) I wish I had beautiful fur. I’m not enough of an envious jerkface to hide my own cats’, though. d.) FIVE HUNDRED SMACKERS?!

People would pay five hundred dollars for a stupid, ugly dress that the cat will hate being in before they would give it to an animal shelter or a charity that will actually help animals. Excuse me while I cry myself to sleep tonight.

  75. Debbyaknit says:

I wud neffer dwess teh kittehs dat way. It is too far beneath their digniteh. Why go in taffeta when you gots fur?

  76. Diazocat says:

My kittehs’ already have bewtiful black fur coats. Why would they need to cover that with a dress?

  77. Gamin Davis says:

My kitteh wud wahk rite out uv dis owtfit if I wuz stoopid enuff 2 try 2 put it on her. Besidez, I gotz better things 2 spend $500 on. Agreez wif peepl who sez dat da dwessez R uglee, no need 2 spendz $$$ on cloze 4 kittehs, I dont spend dat much on my own cloze and donating 2 shelterz iz way bettr idea. Or really cool kitteh toyz dat I cant normally afford. ;^) (Experimenting with Lolspeak–how’s that?)

  78. Cissy says:

Putin cloze on cats iz so rong. I wood neva do that. Plus, I wood neva waste $$ on that. U mus b cra-z 2 do that.

  79. Smush says:

    Dressing kitties is just WRONG!

  80. Kat says:

“I’z in ur fashun staytmentz, plannin ur demize…”

Dressing up cats this way is no better than putting your preschool-age human kid into beauty pageants for the sole insane reason that you “never got to do it when you were a kid.”

Why spend $500 on a dress for a cat when that 500 could be put to better use in helping homeless kitties find love, peace and furrever homes with adoring families?

The whole idea is just loopy.

    • pj says:

what Kat said. :-) I agree.

    • Marvelous Mira says:

I completely agree. Most cats don’t like clothes, anyway. And anyway, why waste $500 on something for an ungrateful cat, even if you’re filthy rich and don’t need the money?

Personally, that’s almost what I make in a year, and my cat wouldn’t want it, AND last but not least, I have better things to do.

  81. Hiulgrin says:

I would never put a dress on my cat…
1: I won’t buy such expensive clothes for myself so why for the cat
2: I think that spending money on the cat should be done for it’s pleasure and I consider clothes for pets torture
3: I have a tomcat and those shouldn’t be wearing dresses (maybe a kilt) same as most human males (in the “western” world) won’t wear dresses
    4: I love my skin

  82. LissFirefly says:

I would never dress any animal in any clothes….period.

  83. FreyjaW says:

Totally ugly, waste of money better used to keep up the 3 kitties’ health insurance, and I wound not insult their dignity in that fashion. The boys would look stupid and scratch me to ribbons, then hide for a few days. Honor would eat me, and she’s just a 5 month old kitten (well, almost 5 months). Should have named her Nipper. Best not to mess with their cat-ness in such a fashion. Besides, it’s so much harder to pet them properly when they wear clothes.

  84. SHY says:

Hah I’d hate to see what my cats would do in a dress if they wanna kill me when I put giant “SALE!! 9.99″ sticker on their fore heads and take picz! Lawls but they keep commin back for more

  85. Pheebs says:

mai kittehz act liek they gotz led waytz on wen we putz der colarz on. if we getted dem kitteh cloz, deyd nebber moov!

  86. fidra says:

No, HE wouldn’t look good in a dress, and I think HE would be rather annoyed if I tried to put him in one.
