  4. Youma says:

Why are there no cats in this video? I’m scared and confused!

  5. Macca says:

    Yay! You sold out! :-)

    • Hurpdurp says:

You’re implying Cheezburger hasn’t already sold out, like, a million months ago.

(The aforementioned amount of months may have been exaggerated.)

    • EvilDave says:

Sold out? Tell me, are you paying to access this site? No? Didn’t think so.

Do you think that servers, bandwidth, and electricity are free?

  6. Pennyforth says:

We interrupt your spam for an overwhelming dose of I-don’t-f***ing care.

Besides, Steve Carell is rapidly falling into the same rut that Will Ferrell did–playing variations on the same character in every film he’s in. He would have done far better to stay with The Daily Show.

  7. MeanJellybean says:

    Moar adz? Do.Not.Liek.

    Luv,

Teh Kittehs n Hoomins o da ICHC univerz.

  8. kimw says:

Dat man creeps me owut jus like teh Jim Carrey. Pleah Do not Want!

  9. Qumefox says:

Word of advice.. Don’t fall into the same cycle as teh rest of teh internetz. If the site revenue has hit a plateau, either deal with it and live within your means, so to speak, or actually get creative and find another way to draw in users. But when content starts being usurped by ads, your doing nothing but driving off the people who’s traffic you live off of. People come here to see kitteh’s, not ads.

    • max says:

      100% agree! This SUX!

    • EvilDave says:

Please explain how a website can “live within its means” when more and more people visit it, which require more and more server power and bandwidth, both of which cost money?

      • Peter says:

Because the more viewers they have the more they can charge the advertisers. That’s how advertising works. Why do you think Super Bowl ads are so expensive? It’s because there are more people watching it than a regular football game. If ICHC isn’t raising their ad rates as viewership has increased that’s their own fault.

We all understand the site needs the ads to survive. But mixing in non-relevant ads with the content is not the way to do it.

        • Taiko says:

Totally agrre. Look at other wesites:
          like newgrounds.
They also do have to pay servers and bandwith, but they do not have that much ads!

  10. Lyle Blake Smythers says:

As others have noted, this is a blatant and shameless ad and has no place in the main thread of this site. It belongs on the side with the other ads, which are offensive enough to begin with but are, I suppose, a necessary evil.

  11. chech1965 says:

Okay, ICHC….enough with the videos. Give them their own page!!!!

  12. pixiesmom says:

ooh ick wat dis hareball doin in OUR space, dudes?

  13. TBah says:

Here’s an idea–on a humor site, you might want to try advertising something that’s ACTUALLY FUNNY. Seeing this ad has guaranteed that I’ll NEVER go to see this flop.

  14. EvilDave says:

A question for all the people complaining about the in-content ads:

Would you be willing to pay for a subscription to not see the in-content ads?

    • Peter says:

You would think all the ads everywhere else on the site would be enough. Passing them off as “content” is insulting.

And yes, if I could view a completely ad-free version I would consider paying for that.

    • Bill says:

Great point. I am offended by most of the comments here.

  15. Sarah says:

We have ads on the top, bottom and multiple ads on the sides: why would you insert more in the middle and pass it off as content? You didn’t even pretend to care about whether it appealed to your viewers. By all that’s furry you could have at least advertised a cat related movie and saved this ad for the fail blog.

  16. kfirah says:

Don’t you think “Cats & Dogs 2 The Revenge of Kitty Galore” is more topic-related, if you just HAVE to promote a movie?! Not that it’s probably any funnier, but, still.

  17. Roger That says:

Why would I come to this site any more when about 80% of all the data content is advertising, and now this? I’ve been reading ICHC since it was a much simpler beast, and although it delights me that a stream of captioned cats can fuel a whole empire of funnies and revenue with actual employees, this screams “revolution eating its children” to me.

  18. PrayForMojo says:

WAY off base! A plug for Cat & Dogs I could tolerate – at least it’s thematic. But this piece of crap…?

I realize that this is a for-profit website, but this is too much.

  19. Baobao says:

Gib da monies u got fur dis ad to da local kitteh resku hom!

  20. Peter says:

    Ads with my kittehs?!?!?

    DO NOT WANT!!!!!

  21. aryon says:

worst thing is that it’s a remake of “le diner de cons” 1997 french movie…

    • Jules says:

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who realized this… :)

    • Ranzetta says:

Indeed. Every time a really good French movie is made, Hollywood feels the need to remake it. As if their big budget would automatically make it better. A lot of my friends speak only very little English. When they want to see a Hollywood movie, they see it dubbed or subbed. And if it’s anything like Taxi, the Hollywood version will be an insulting dumbed down version with explosions… check it out, they’ll make the soup explode or something…
(Sorry if I make mistakes, English is not my first language)

  22. Markitteh says:

Don’t click “play”. Saw Carell on some chat show and he explained the premise of this film. Repulsive. Movie reviews (not the ads) do me the service of providing enough information about films to decide whether they’re worth seeing. Most are not.

  23. Badbcky says:

Another great movie idea – Stolen from the French. I love how Americans love to hate the French – and steal all their movie ideas. This movie has been renowned in France for something like 20 years. Can’t Hollywood come up with their OWN ideas once in a while?

    • Markitteh says:

The way Carell described it made it sound like a lousy movie idea. But there’s no accounting for taste.

      • Badbcky says:

The original was actually really good, but mainly because of the cast. The humor is a bit like a Will Farrell movie, take away the American redneck humor and add uppity French indignation.

    • Taiko says:

I agree. Remake = how to make bad movies with good movies….

  24. Jess says:

Well, now I tink I won’t see dis movie. Take dat, sellouts. >:3

  25. mrshalibut says:

WTF? Wy is dere crap on da front page? Now mebbe I not go to frunt page at all.

  26. Goober says:

This is as bad as that time a year or 2 ago when an ad for “Hotel For Dogs” was captioned and submitted as a LOL. Whoever did it didn’t even try to hide that it was basically an ad.

  27. texocelt says:

Oh, PLEASE don’t go down this road. So obnoxious. I love ICHC and that just put a really baaaad taste in my mouth–like a soy burger topped with a slice of Pasteurized Processed American Cheese Food.

  28. TorachiKatashi says:

Why are so many people complaining about ads on the borders? Don’t you people know what AdBlockPlus is? I didn’t even know this site had ads till I saw you guys complaining about it.

  29. Orangello says:

Boooooo! Sponsored content needs its own page.

  30. pootle says:

Adz iz adz, lolz iz lolz, OK, but adz pretending az lolz NOT OK.

  31. ronniecat says:

    DO NOT WANT

  32. MaddieKat says:

    DO NOT WANT!

  33. smooches says:

It’s not like they’re forcing anyone to watch the preview. How ’bout just not hitting play and scrolling past it. I really don’t understand what the big deal is.

    • TBah says:

It’s not like anyone’s forcing you to read the comments. How ’bout just not hitting the comments link and scrolling past it. I really don’t understand what the big deal is.

Yeah, the funny thing about that argument, aside from how stupid and meaningless it is, is that it can always be just as legitimately used against you once it’s brought up. Try a better one next time.

      • smooches says:

So I can only have an opinion if I agree with the majority? I wasn’t trying to start an argument, I was simply giving an opinion. But thank you so much for putting me in my place, it was so very thoughtful of you.

By the way, if my comment was so ‘stupid and meaningless’, why did you feel it so important to reply to it? Why don’t you take your own advice and try better next time….

  34. ariane says:

oh, goody. Blatant commercialism. It’s not enough with the banner ads, the sidebars, headers and footers, and all the rest of it. Now we have “vids” that are tawdry movie promos. Sad, guys. But hey, it’s the pockets full of money that count, right?

  35. Helen says:

We don’t need advertisements on here, do we?
