Speaking of LOL-making, I can feel the caption ideas circling by brain, so I shall go forth and caption pictures!

I think this specifically overlooks the early-origins of the “Anteater Pride” movement: During the MST3K version of the Made-For-PBS movie “Overdrawn at the Memory Bank” the hosts express ongoing outrage at the insults hurled at the species by the characters in the film that suggest that anteaters are the worst of all animals.

it mentions 4chan, you have to look closer. 4chan was the one who started caturday as a way to get users to take a break from flaming and trolling one another on saturdays.

A company named Ethicon, in the 50s and 60s, published booklets of pictures of cats with funny captions, mostly relating to the medical field. Ethicon made sutures, called “cat gut” which were not really made of cats guts…but probably explains their cat pictures.
