What’s “brave”? The cat isn’t aware of his condition.
Do you seriously think the cat hasn’t noticed that his hind legs have been replaced with something artificial?

I think the cat qualifies, given how well he has handled what was likely a very painful experience and then a difficult recovery.

I agree with BCT. I love this site but its pointless reading the comments as they are almost always by ‘tards trying to be funnier than the captions – and failing.
The cat however is cool and was really lucky and was aware of his condition because he couldn’t walk for ages!
If you don’t like the comments, don’t read ‘em. I find the people who comment are actually quite intelligent and often very witty. Just because they choose to write in LOL-speak doesn’t make them any less intelligent than those who write in plain English. The comments make me laugh all the time. Thank you, Cheezpeeps!
Comments give me headaches all the time. No thank you. I’ve started to notice most of the comments are just chatting back and forth between regulars sometimes not even about the OP with an underlining need to show off who is the best at LOL speak. LOL speech is on a lower level of humor, definately isn’t high brow stuff. While I do enjoy dumb pointless and crude humor.. I don’t enjoy reading about ppl pretending to be cats doing LOL speak with hourly updates about how their day is going when its not related to the OP. They are nothing but trolls in lol cat clothes.

Brave indeed! It takes a strong heart and being surrounded by people who love you to recover from that kind of accident.
I’m in awe that his family (farmers in the UK) put out the money to have this kitty fitted with artificial legs. The poor guy was caught in a piece of farming equipment. Many people would have put him down.

so yeah I was clueless about oscar and his story I was just scrolling through the available lol cat pictures and I was moved by this one. There’s not realy anything funny about this situation.
After finding the cat’s name through the comments, I read his story and indeed he is brave. anyone who has pets knows that yes, they can be very aware of what’s happening to them, they also have different personalitys…you can different cats in the same situation and not have the same outcome.
and yes I am so clueless that I missed the link to the story…it happens when you have a baby hanging from your hair or trying to faceplant into your laptop screen…..or shreeking because he figured out his voice can do that
I have a six month old girl who does the same thing.

The paws were amputated. Not all animals survive that. Some humans don’t survive it.
I thought these were supposed to be funny, not incorrect, dumb, and lame. He’s a friggin’ cat. The only amazing thing about this is the science that got it done
His skin managed to graft itself onto the pegs embedded in his leg, without infection. Which was like a medical first at the time, so he helped a little >.>

souai ..obviously not very familiar with how special and individual cats can be. It’s not uncommon for people to call a human who endures such injury “brave” . Granted, he did not get hurt by throwing himself on a grenade, he didnt rescue someone from a fire…but not every human who’s had similar wounds got them by doing something heroic.
And I thought de-clawing was bad…

People laugh at others misfortunes constantly.. you fall on your face walking down the street, it hurts like hell but the people driving by, 80% are laughing 19% hope you’re ok, 1% will stop to see if you are ok.
Thats society. Get used to it.. we pray upon one another for profit, amusement and vengence. Cides I’m sure it cost the owners a small fortune to get this done, I know it cost me over 500 to try and fix my pet cat’s leg, which it never healed properly and the cat became mean natured for the rest of its life. While we can be all best buds with our pets, when you start treating them better then your fellow man, then you’re no better then PETA.
