Oh my gosh, is there something wrong with its eye? I really hope that’s glare.
English should be capitalized and proper punctuation is needed at the end of the sentence! No wonder I had sixth graders failing to use correct punctuation on their final exams!
It’s the fault of the KITTEHS!

**steps up on soapbox**
I teach reading to first graders whose first language is not English. We work on those crazy, irregular English sound/spelling patterns all year long — ad infinitum, ad nauseum. J and g and -dge can all make the same sound! Whose idea was that? However, knowing them is crucial to read and write in English.
I also think that we teachers need to teach what kinds of language are appropriate for different situations. For example, sometimes it’s better to say “stole” instead of “jacked,” as in, “Teacher, he jacked my pencil!!”
LOLspeak has given me a new appreciation for the weird, wonderful wacky ways of English. Here’s a shout-out to all LOLspeakers, especially those whose first language is not English. You not only know English, but can communicate using all those irregular patterns. All LOLspeakers are amazing, smart people!
**steps down from soapbox**
**whispurrs**
Confidential to student teacher Lei: It really does get easier when you have your own classroom and get a little more experience under your belt.
**uses announcer’s voice**
