Hey Cheezburger Frends,
I know it’s a little out of the blue, but I wanted to say thank you for being a part of the Cheezburger Network. It’s an amazing experience watching the different communities in the Network come together and grow, whether it’s I Has A Hotdog or Daily Squee. Some of you may have read about it recently in the news that we have become one of the largest humor destinations online — all thanks to you, our community.
More than a thousand fans came out to the Cheezburger Night with the Mariners, we recently picked up our 5th Webby award, were profiled in the New York Times and dozens of other publications. All because we, on the Internet, are participating in creating our own content, and our own humor, and sharing it with others.
We’re going to continue to create more “playgrounds” of humor and lulz, and we’re totally dedicated to making you happy for a few minutes a day and continue to create features that will make your experience here more fun.
We wouldn’t be here without you and your contributions, comments, and love.

Eh, I don’t like the fact that the trophies don’t account for the past. It’s like you’re starting from scratch. IT’S SO ANNOYING! If you’re going to give out trophies, you better account for what we’ve already achieved! Fix this glitch now, please.
Actually, why are you even awarding trophies? What’s the point of them? I really don’t do anything to achieve them, I just do things and I happen to attain them. I mean, that’s not what this site should be about. You shouldn’t be prompted to get more friends just because there’s a trophy for it! This site is headed down the drain. That’s the problem; A group of people have something really good, and they change it, thinking they’re making it better, but they’re really not.
What the Kernl said. I’ve been a regular contributor of lolz since Teh Beginningez, in teh gud ol dais b4 there were accounts. After having 16 lolz make the front page and numerous more sink without a trace during the voting process, why am I being penalized by Teh Cheezez by having to start over with a zero count while hoarders who’ve never contributed anything get trophies?
Cheezez, if you must pollute the site with more pointless cutsie-wootsie bells & whistles, at least make them cumulative so that we get honest and accurate counts.

Yes, das rite. I think the comments at ICHC are great, but they were even funnier in the days of the burger-votes. I fondly remember how happy it made me when lots of people liked a comment / joke/ haiku. It’s nice to get 5-burger votes on your comment, but also nice to see when someone else’s deserving comment gets lots of votes.

I am so pleased to hear this! icanhascheezburger most certainly makes my day, every day. Good clean humor. This may sound a little ridiculous, but this site shines light into my, what sometimes seems, unbearable life. Christen, you spoke for me, too. I wasn’t around Cheezburgerz long ago And a few of the comments about its being “too sweet” now almost scared me. I have life-long depression disorder and I LOVE this site. Sometimes it’s a lifeline out of the doldrums. I make a lot of captions, too. Even if they don’t get on the site it’s fun and lifts my spirits. And one time, one of mine made it! I was over the moon. Some people like biting wit but I love the good clean humor instead.

As someone who is unable to get around as much as I’d like, this site has given me the chance to travel in imagination to all corners of the world and I have made friends I will never meet face to face, yet care about as if they were living next door – if they are half as pleasant as the handful of cheezpeople I have actually met in the flesh, my hopes for the world are not as bad as some think. I really enjoy this site and say thanks to all involved who keep it running (relatively) smoothly and who get Dr. Tinycat right on the case when it does not run quite so smoothly.
I suppose I am considered one of the “so sweet it’s icky” crowd as stated in an earlier comment but frankly it is nice to visit a site where folks are friendly and kind, not trollish and insulting and arguing over every pic or comment.

I like the concept of the trophies very much, but the designs could use a little work. The concept works well as it ties into the “gold star” reward method we are all trained on as children in grade school.

Only like one trophy – ‘I made the website’. It’s happened to me twice, so I’d like to see that, but won’t because it was pre-trophy. The other trophies are for things most of us have done so many times, it’s kind of like getting a trophy for blinking. I think if I was a 10 year old kid, I would love them.

The trophies are a good summary of what each person has achieved and encourages others to view LOL’s. On the other hand, they may be inviting trolls. There art some malcontents who visit Cheezeburger just for the sake of heckling rather than creating.

I found out from da Cheezfolks caus I wrote to ‘em. When you submit a picture it goes to the “Vote” place on the site. There’s a tab at the top of the Homepage that says “Vote” where you can sign on and vote for lots and lots of pictures. I’m sure they come from all over the world and thousands of people may be submitting them. I’ve made over 400 LOLz and I vote fairly often but I rarely see my own posted there since there re soooo many. Out of all of mine I made the Homepage ONCE. I was over the moon! Maybe I’ll make it again, maybe not….but the making of them is the fun part. Keep it up; you might make the Homepage too.

LOL cats is a berry bright spot in my day. I wish I had the time to learn LOLCat speak because it adds to the fun! IMHO, the awards and such are nice but not necessary additions.
Too much tweaking and features and it can get cumbersome and elitist: pleez to be careful not to make access and participation too fussy. Kitties are already a bit queeny :/
