Actually, many cable companies nowadays are offering phone service over coax cable. It’s what I have at home. Kitty would be taking out my TV, Internet, and phone simultaneously. You can bet it would get kitty some attention…maybe not the kind kitty would want, though! hehe
And if you have VoIP (as many people now do) then your phone service comes through that same coaxial cable.
