    Sorry, don’t like it

  2. usagiaddict says:

Sorry, it’s pathetic IMHO. Moar cheezburgerz, less shat plox.

  3. archie says:

I don’t know if it’s intentional, but the Japanese script is painfully, painfully wrong.

  4. kibbles says:

I hope that says what you think it says, otherwise people will be wandering around with “let poop hah cat out pie finger plz”. Yup.

first line clearly says cheezburger, in proper spelling, except that it should be written in katakana instead of hiragana since it’s an english loanword.
Not sure on the last line, though. It does end with a negation, but I can’t think of the verb it’s supposed to mean.
I don’t think it could be of much offense. ‘gibonnu’ might simply be mistaken as a missspelling of the japanese word for the monkey with nearly identical name.

      Wy So Srs everyone?

The only mistake I see is that it should be キボンヌ instead of ギボンヌ.
      キボンヌ is a 2channel-speak for 希望する(きぼうする), i.e. “to want”.
e.g. エロ画像キボンヌ (えろがぞうきぼんぬ) means “I can has pr0n?”

And I think the hiragana rendition of cheezburger as ちーずばーがー is intentionally (and effectively!) done for teh cute, as lolcats are known for their idiosyncratic usage of written language.

This is just an opinion of a heavy 2channel user whose native language is Japanese.

iz not so serius, iz just sick of ppl walking around wiff shirts that say strange fings in japanese. I rember my boy-friends ‘乱馬’ shirt.. he’s only a big fan of Ranma 1/2, but he got many puzzeled looks by asians who must’ve asked themselves why he would write ‘wild horse’ on his t-shirt, maybe a statement about qualities in bed?
someone asked wether the text was ‘safe’ and I wanted to say that I see no reason it should be offensive. U never know when the next person speaking Japanese will turn up and tell u what your t-shirt says before someone laughs at you (although I think the Japanese are rather tolerant unless it’s something really offending)
Writing in hiragana instead of katakana is ‘lolspeak-like’, I noticed, but i failed to communicate (-.-)o I can also imagine japanese lolcats to write in kanji, but use radicals that resemble the one that’s supposed to be used.. think of Ranma 1/2 again and the discussion between Ranma, Kunou and Nabiki about how ‘baka’ is supposed to be spelled ^:^
キボンヌ can be found in some dictionaries. 日本語が話せながら、俗語まだ苦手です。

On a sidenote: I’ve seen t-shirts with German (my native language) printed on them in japanese magazines and one i won’t forget read ‘Schotterbett Westende’. ‘western end of the roadbed’ or バラストの西の果て completely pointless, but stylish ;)
