Still separated, supervised meetings were a disaster,
both went into the battle cat mode.
Yogi has cooled down but Inji does not yet trust him
so hisses and snarls whenever she sees him, that in turn sets him
off and so the cycle continues
Hm, much longer period separated is in order, aifinkso… 4-5 days wif no contact. For meetings… try teh special treat (gushifuds, tuna, whatever), but have them farther apart, in separate rooms maybe with an open door between, and gradually edge them closer together each day, but keep those meetings short. Poor Inji got scared bad, she needs a chance to learn to trust him again. Also: no coddling her and petting her and reassuring her when she gets hissy (I know it’s hard, instinct is to reassure her!) — that will only encourage her, she’ll start thinking, “Aha, when I do this, mom cuddles me and stuff!”
my instinct is to run away when they both get into the battle cat mode, the hissing, the snarling, the baring of the fangs, and the low guttural sounds are truly frightening.
