That little owl is cute! His neck muscles seem amazingly strong, given how long his neck is and how young he looks. I hope he grows up safe and gets back outside soon.

why is a wild bird being kept in a house?
some baby birds become orphaned and rehabilitators will take them in and raise them.

When they get old enough the wildlife center where I’m at will introduce them to other orphans or maybe an injured adult if there is one around at the time, so they learn about their own species before re-release.
It’s pretty awsome watching them get all excited to see other critters that look like themselves.

I think it’s disgusting that some people keep owls as pets – they are wild creatures and do not belong in your living room.
this one is too young to be a pet dotk. most likely a rehab bird. owls are hard to raise at that age and you really have to know what you are doing to get them looking tat good. thats a healthy little baby!
i work with birds of prey, at first i was gonna say its bot a baby owl but more like a baby vulture, but baby vultures can’t hold their heads up for long and only owls move their heads like that. and so you know they move their heads round like that so they can build an image together and they can’t move their eyes as they’re fixed inside their skull. this one is probably being hand reared and is either a rescue bird or was one that has been hatched out in an incubator
Be it an owl or a vulture (me thinks owl too) I don’t thinks it’s wise to play loud music when a young developing and growing creature with hyper sensitive ears is in your living room. People just don’t think!
