Fair enough. I guess you didn’t look at the latin roots, etc. If you look at other languages, you will find they often include English words but have altered the spelling and pronunciation. Aluminium in England is Aluminum in America. Both are right to the people who use them and neither are wrong or need correction.

If it’s in the dictionaries then you are too late in your objection, sorry. Think instead of “expresso” as an English word of Italian origin if that helps you accept multiple spellings.
Nursing mothers “express” milk; you can see the meaning is the same. ie “To press out”.

this comment is full of fail: in attempting to correct a misspelling, both the words “espresso” and “caffeine” were misspelled… and unless decaf beans are being used, espresso generally DOES have caffeine in it, just not necessarily as much as other varieties of coffee, as the level of roasting typical of espresso varietals and other dark roasts diminishes the caffeine levels somewhat while intensifying other flavors

Ohai Stephanie !! English is a funny language and it absorbs and sometimes changes foreign words. Expresso is a variant of espresso.
Words with similar roots often merge in common usage. I doubt this is related to “excape”.
Check out the dictionary for espresso to see what I mean.

Yeah, this little kitteh has a fascinating coat going on there, Makes me wonder the same thing, though it would be cool if it kept its stripes…I actually think that Tonya is a dark variant of a lynx-point Siamese… under her black coat, sometimes in certain light, you can see faint traces of tabby stripes on her feet and face where a regular Meezer would have darker color-points…that and young Snowflake looks a lot like a slender, white version of Tonya
