Gammacat and all my cheesefriends, please give your kitties an extra big snuggle for me. I am posting tonight with a heavy heart. I just got off the phone with one of my teammates at work. Her cat, King, a big orangish-grayish tabby, has crossed over the bridge today and was put to sleep. She was sobbing uncontrollably, and I can’t say that I’m not starting to do the same. King wasn’t even my cat, but I feel like I lost a dear friend.
King was with my friend since he was two months old but had been staying with my friend’s mom for the last couple years. Lately, his organs were failing him and it would have been very expensive for my friend to save him, not to mention the fact that the vet even said that the first set of tests they would run would probably kill King anyway.
Mr. CC, please be with King as he is playing in the meadow and make sure that he makes lots of friends!!

JCH4K said it all. We sometimes owe it to them to end the suffering even though it breaks our hearts. And reguardless of the munnee, what is best for them is the most important. King is in the meadow pain free and surrounded with friends until your teammate is ready to get him for forever.

Poor King… except that he was fortunate enough to have humans who love him enough to set him free from a failing body. It hurts so very much when the only loving thing you can do is give them a gentle nudge across the Bridge.
He’ll have many new friends there, heart-kitties and kitties who never found their heart-friends on this side, and he’ll be there waiting for her. A little thing like losing a body won’t stop a determined cat from a reunion with HIS human when the right time comes.

Post a photo of a murdered bear and make it a joke, everyone finds it funny. If someone posted a photo of a murdered CAT and most people wouldn’t find it funny. In fact, they would all be disgusted and angered by it. Even though the bear was JUST as sentient as the “cute” and “cuddly” kitties you all love so much.
