Lol – saw this at home when it took my kitteh 45 min to kill a dead moth cuz everytime she breathed on it, it moved and she jumped backwards in fright and had to gather curage to approach again.

Good job, kitteh! Git that varmint! I had a sweet kitteh who was the best bugkiller … I rarely have roaches (thank goodness) but if I did, she got rid of ‘em. I miss her!

My cat does that.

She brings roaches into the house and plays with them. Most of the time she’ll end up eating them (at least partly) but sometimes she’ll just walk away from them without killing them, which annoys the hell out of me. I have to kill them, and she has the nerve to come back and say, HEY I was eating that!! Dam cat.

i lived in florida for awhile with my mom. one day i was out in the backyard with her dog and the dog was chasing something around the backyard. investigated and found out it was a palmetto bug. i couldn’t believe there was a cockroach large enough for a hyper boxer to chase around a backyard.

We have them in Texas, too… our dogs will chase them and kill them (but not eat them) if they find them. Not that I’m complaining – I’d rather have to pick up a dead palmetto bug to flush than a live one…

Reminds me when my cat was chasing a grasshopper through the house, she would bat it somewhere and lose it. she would then grab my leg and meow wanting me to find it for her, and i would and shed go back to chasing it till she lost it again lol.

I used to manage a little cafe in the city, and we’d get roaches sometimes in our basement. Ewww, hate them. We used to call them “bunnies”, so as to not alarm our customers. “uh-oh, there are bunnies loose downstairs again!”

De roach appears to be a palmetto bug. Palmetto bugs infested the shrubs outside my apartment in Florida. I had an old tom cat that learned how to bait then into coming indoors. He would eat canned cat food then not wash his face well. He would then lie by the inside of the back door. De roaches would smell the food, squeeze under the door looking for it and the cat would grab them. He ate the soft belly off of them and deposited the rest of the bug on the foot of the bed. Sometimes I woke up to 4 or 5 bug carcasses in the morning. They aren’t disease carriers like common household roaches. More like a big cricket with a shady family tree.
