My boifrent used to work in teh part of teh Pentagon that was destroyed and he was working in the Capitol on teh day. I didn’t know him yet then, but in spite of teh tremendous grief over teh terrible loss that lingers even now, I am also so very grateful that fate took him out of harm’s way.

Wun wuz LTG Maude. He wuz ar Community Commander in Stuttgart an wuz verree supporive ov ar theatre and program.

An Pat Statz wuz an Entertainment Director laik me. Ai think she wuz in Bamberg. We awnlee met at ar conferences, an wile werking awn sum ov teh bigger Yurp wide programs – but she wuz verree nice. An then she went bak to the States.

no, probably not the best way, but it is a way consitent with this site. We often make alphabetical lists of sillly things. This happens to be a list of something important to remember.

I challenge you, loocute, to do something that *is* useful as you remember the events of this day: something to make the world a better place, something to overcome hatefulness with love and compassion.

One thing I do, partially prompted by the events of 9/11 is to volunteer time, effort and money with a literacy organization that provides materials in the heart language of people groups all over the world to help them learn to read. Drop in the bucket? Yup. I do it anyway as a [flawed] follower of Jesus. Maybe it will be more like a pebble in a pond sending ripples…
