Do you guys actually believe that this is a happy sound? That poor cat is growling at the person because it’s being disturbed while it’s eating. It is a stressful and unpleasant experience for the cat and I think rather cruel just to get a ‘funny’ video out of it.
These cat brains don’t possess that kind of cognitive reasoning. I simply assumed the cat was trained to do that. That maybe it was the same cat where if you pet it would make that sound even if not eating. If you look for it, there’s a video of youtube where this guy asks the cat if he likes him or whatever and gets that sound when petting it.

Nah kidding. Some things are known only by some. You can’t know it all. As for my cat, he’s so cared for by us that I can pet him while eating and get no response other than arching his butt into the air while he continues to eat.

This is a typical feline response to being disturbed while eating, you see the same reaction from lions when a lower ranking member of the pride gets too close before it is their turn to eat. It is simply a warning to back off.
I wasn’t implying any kind of cognitive reasoning. Stress has been shown in nematodes which are a very basic form of life. Are you saying you believe that cats do not possess the necessary development to feel stress?
The cat in the youtube video would just be a talkative cat, some are. If you listen well you’ll see that the noises they are making are quite different.

I hear that growl from my cat when she’s downstairs and a sleeping dog is between her and the stairs. The dog doesn’t care about the cat, but she’ll still “mmrrrRRRRrrrrrr…..mmmMMMMRRRRRRRRRRRRRR” at him until she can sneak around him.
She does NOT like the dog. ;3
I think a funnier sound would be the one my kitty makes when he’s eating and you’re petting him. He purrs, but then it changes when he opens his mouth, so it’s a happy-funny sound.

Let’s hope that this is something the cat went into the household with and not something that developed IN the household. After years of proper care, a cat can move beyond it; however, some cats will never let it go.
