i totally agree. the humane society or that nine lives campaign should consider it. it os so sad that people let millions of cats die just to have a pure bred cat… mine are all strays we found and took in. i love them with all my heart. i think that people should adopt more, breed less.
No. Kittens get put to sleep, too, especially if they are young or sick or black or shy or wild or… etc. Nice dream you have there about kitten immunity. It doesn’t exist. Older cats are in more danger, but kittens need rescuing too.

I know whatcha mean abowt “no permanent kitteh for a long time.” Is a hard fing to lose a long-time forever-home kitteh. We took 4 yeerz off after Grem passed. Prolly sownds silleh but we BOTH kried almost every day for teh furst yeer. I went hoem wun day and fownd mah huzbing (well, he wuzzint huzbing yet, but huzbing-in-trayning) krying and krying, riting a poem for Grem. Bowt whut a gud boi he wuz and hao mush we lubbinged heem. Teh adopters find us, adn are screened by teh interviewers, adn then they aks about teh particular kittehs. If we fink that they are teh gr8 furrever hoem, then our transport team relays thems to teh hoems.

Now she’s VERY involved in fostering baby kittehs…the ones who are turned in to shelters before they’re even weaned and need bottle feeding every 2 – 4 hours around the clock. I was amazed to learn about that! I want to try that but I don’t know how our Miss Tortie Thang would take it. She hates everybody. Even me, unless I have food in my hands. PS: I have noticed that older (usually retired) peeps are more likely to adopt adult dogs and cats. They are kind of afraid that the pet might outlive them, and end up back in shelter, or worse. We need to get more Sr.Living buildings and retirement communities to allow tenants to have pets. Everybody is healthier and lives longer that way.
