This is pretty disappointing. Maybe I’m biased since I entered, but yeah. Thing was in the rules it said it was judged 50/50 on originality and quality or something and since so many of them were similar that probably why. Still makes me want to RAWR at someone myself.

There were sooooo many great, ferocious Rawrs I had a hard time picking a favorite. The winner is so disappointing…..just ordinary pick. What’s up with this?

Smorizio is right. Google “The Best RAWR Contest”. There’s a link on the contest’s home page that will take you to all of the submissions.
I did not enter a photo; so I have no stake in this. However, with respect, and no offense intended to Karen, the contest’s winner, there were far, far better RAWRs submitted. I only looked at half of the submissions and out of those saw at least five excellent RAWRs. It would be tough to choose between them. I hope they will appear as pics for us to be able to lol.
The outcome of the contest is certainly perplexing. It was a good idea, but I think it took a wrong turn at Albekir … Albacur … Albiqer … that place in New Mexico that sounds like Albuquerque.
maybe it was not the best rawr, but it’s genuine. lots of yawns and crickers with mouth wide open. but this one! great! the lion posture, the fierceness, the keep at bay googgie! c’mon! be true to your cathearts!
How did this one win? Looks more like a hiss than a rawr. The lighting isn’t so good either. WTF?

And it’s an excellent photo, not under or over exposed. Give it to a professional photo lab (like the one I work at) and we’ll give you back a lovely photo.

It is interesting to me that all the familiar names and friendly comments show up thread after thread, until an unusual thread like this appears, whether it be a contest result, or whatever, and then it seems the jackasses, etiquette-challenged, poor sports, and other riff-raff appear and show their butts…
