I know i sleep better when Scott’s Bi-PAP is on and working. He’s always snored; when he stops i wake up! But now i know i don’t have to joggle him to get him to breathe.

tell teh dr yoo iz more tired wen yoo gets up tehn wen yoo wented to bed. taht itself is strong indikatraor, um, sine yoo needs teh test, ifinkso.
Being tired lots, and really sleepy during the day, is a major sign. If you snore, or make any choking/snorting/etc sounds in your sleep, or if anyone’s noticed periods at night when there are long gaps between breaths, that’s a big thing to tell him. Ditto if you tend to wake up frequently during the night. There’s a bunch of other things it can cause, but the only one I can recall right now is mood disorders and the stuff you’d expect with poor sleep: poor concentration and short-term memory and low energy and such. The only way to actually diagnose it is to spend a night at a sleep clinic where they analyse your sleep. Being tired all the time can have lots of reasons, but sleep apnea’s pretty common. Odds go up if you’re overweight, or on opiate painkillers, or, um, can’t recall the rest right now. *sigh* Sorry.
It can cause kidney and heart failure as well—your oxygen saturation levels go down, which robs the organs of oxygen, and then you can die, quite quickly. It’s not good.

It’s hard to know how to feel or how to react or what to do. Physically, we’re all over the planet. Most of us never met Ly in person. Many of us didn’t know her well, or had never had a chance to meet her at all. And yet… she was part of the family, and her loss has torn a Ly-sized hole in the world. All the socially traditional rituals of family and funerals don’t apply, since the majority of us aren’t in or able to reach Scotland, and her family wouldn’t know us if we could. It’s hard to explain to our own families and friends and co-workers how the death of someone we know only as words on a screen can have such an enormous impact.
Which leaves us all dazed, and off-balance, and in shock, and with no one but each other to really understand why this is such an enormous thing, and no traditional ways to show respect or grieve or, well, any of the rest of it.

However, reading the postings, her profile, and the way everyone speaks of her, I think she would all want you to danse in her memory. I was reading and heard her say “Oh my god…”. Right when she said that I thought “Oh my god, one of the cheezpeeps crossed the bridge, who was it?” It is very strange how you know things before you’re told them….
