Funny story: About twenny years ago, teh sample Green Card (US Resident Aliem Card) that was shown on instructional and other Immigration-related documents had a picture of a lady whose fake name on teh card was Chow, Lai Ping. Around teh time that this card type was new I worked wif a Fronsch guy who pointed out that teh lady’s fake name when said in Fronsch was “chaud lapin” or “hot rabbit”, which in Fronsch is a eggspression for a lady whut likes to… well… who is teh vry friendly.

Even if it was a linux based OS, linux is just one part of it, and it may not even be the most important part. Heck, mahjongg can, at times, be the most important part. I think, generally speaking, that it’s gnome.

Freebsd is Unix not Linux
Uh, actually, while FreeBSD and the other BSDs are technically based on the Berkley Software Distribution of Unix System V, because of licensing restrictions there’s no real Unix code in FreeBSD. While it could be argued that FreeBSD has much of the same underlying structure and userspace as certain versions of Unix (since, as was discovered, the original BSD stripped of its Unix code was only something like six files away from being a complete operating system on its own anyway), it technically isn’t Unix. To be correct, FreeBSD is the FOSS implementation of much of one of the Unix tool-sets rebuilt on (in this case) the FOSS FreeBSD kernel. These days if you want real Unix your only FOSS option is OpenSolaris. Otherwise, you’re going to be paying for it…
Unix is a set of settings/features, any code that implements them is “unix code”
That being said, it also has to be approved as UNIX by whatever group does this, which FreeBSD has not had done. It’s also done for hardware/software combinations, not just the OS, so technically OpenSolaris only Unix on the right hardware, if any. I’m am not sure that Sun has actually had OpenSolaris verified as a Unix operating system.
And the important part here, rather than flexing technuts, is that the lolcat is labelled LINUX when it’s blatantly obvious from the screenshot it’s FreeBSD.
