O hai, guise. I has some news. My Esme died in my arms this evening. She had been rapidly declining for several days so I knew this would happen sometime very soon.
Thanks to all of you for sending us your love and good wishes over the past year as she braved surgery and chemo. It has been a huge comfort to me. One of the last things I told Esme was that she was so wonderful that she had friends and fans all over the world.

LCB I don’t know what to say (and lolspeak doesn’t seem quite right) apart from how very sorry me and Buddy are. I have the leaky eyes and wanted you to know I am holding your hand – even with the geographical distance between us.
Esme will know how much she was loved – we could all certainly see it – and that you did everything you could to help her. I’ve let my kittehs who live over the Bridge to make her feel welcome.

I’m so very, very sorry for the loss of your beautiful Esme. Nothing ever really prepares any of us for losses as great as this, no matter how far ahead we can see it coming. I hope that you can take comfort in the knowledge that being yours made Esme one of the lucky ones. You kept her safe and warm and loved, and Esme had a wonderful life with you and Liam. She was never cold or hungry or frightened or lonely, and she had the twin joys of both loving you, and being treasured in return. You did everything you could to ease her illness and she went gently into the light from the safety of your arms. In the midst of the pain and loss you feel right now, please remember that you were a blessing to Esme, you are a blessing to Liam, you are a blessing to all of your friends here.
