    I’ve seen the same behavior with our recently-acquired rat and our ancient kitty. However sometimes the rat has insufficient appreciation of personal boundaries and the cat will hiss at him

      ooooh yes my rat looooooooooves to chase and play with the cats, who aren’t as enthusiastic. Sometimes they bite her or hiss, but then she pays them back double by leaping onto their backs to try to get their ears.

    I used to have a pet rat named Bubbles. Cancer took her at 2 years old. She loved my Czech Shepard. They were the best of friends. This video made this old tough guy tear up a little bit.

    Sorry, LOL off today because I am in such a rush but had to say You people are HILARIOUS today, esp. Onion and Rodney (I will love him and hug him .. and “Rodents of Unusual affections…” ;-D
    This reminds me of a rodent/feline version of that Chuck Jones cartoon with the big bulldog (I forget his name) and Pussyfoot . What a great Valentine’s gift. Love you lots, everyone at ICHC…you make me smile many many times. ;-)

    That ratty is trying to groom the kitty. That’s what ratties do for their friends – including their humans. It’s a very sweet thing but it does tickle.

    We just lost our two little squeakers. I miss them a lot. Clever, affectionate little guys, but they just die far too soon.

    love the clip with the rat in it – do NOT love the 2 clips involving animal cruelty!!!! (scaredy cat and jalapeno ferret) – please everyone, if you agree that these clips should be taken down, email ICHC and tell them – click on the link at the bottom of the page. i’m so disappointed that one of my favourite websites is endorsing causing animals pain PURELY for human entertainment. i know it goes on, but i thought this site was different! there are infinite ways to enjoy humour with animals without HURTING them guys!!

    The owner of this Video – at youtube – had the rat killed by two dogs in “part two” of the “rat loves cat” video just to film it. This person is not worth our rating. I ask to remove this video from icanhascheezburger, likewise all of the videos made by this owner.
