I know what you’re talking about. This is my third marriage. My first husband left me for another woman when I had a toddler and was preggers with our second. My second husband died from complications of diabetes. Each one I thought was going to be a good marriage, not perfect, but good. I didn’t know that I didn’t have to settle for good; I thought good was great. The losers I dated before I married! *shudder* And I picked them. I went out with them. I spent my time and energy on them. *shakes head*

Life hasn’t turned out like I thought it would either. I thought I’d be an Animal Health Technician or that I’d breed the best Quarter Horses in Canada! Ha! Not even close.

My friends are few and absorbed in their own lives now. Most of them were work friends so when I stopped working with them, the friendships stopped as well.

I’m sorry you went through hell. I can really relate. I’m glad the Cheezfrens were here for you. I wish I’d known you then. I would have been here for you too. ((((((((((rhsb))))))))))

Are you going to be alright? Where do you live?

I’m in the middle of my 2nd divorce. The first marriage? Yeah, big mistake. My best friend calls it “The Unpleasantness”. LOL My response to that is, “You think it was unpleasant for YOU…” I was flying home a week shy of our 1st anniversary.

The 2nd marriage? Well, I thought that was “IT”. I swore up and down that we were meant to be together and all that jazz, but he turned into someone I didn’t recognize and now can’t stand. On our 4th wedding anniversary, he told me (via email no less) that he was filing for divorce. (We had been separated since October the previous year.)

The severe depression and pure unadulterated Hell that I’ve been through almost did me in. If it hadn’t been for the friendships I’d made here, I don’t know if I would’ve made it through. My few IRL friends distanced themselves from me, so I had nowhere and no one.

You know, I never thought I’d be MARRIED twice, let alone DIVORCED twice. And I’m 41. Gee, life sure hasn’t turned out how I thought it would!

I love stroking cats, their fur is just wonderful! Everywhere except in my mouth. lol

My mom was allergic to all animals when I was growing up so we never had anybody that lived in the house. Well, that’s not true now. We had a guinea pig named Betsy and that’s how we found out that Mom was allergic. Betsy looooved grapes! Bliss was her face when she punctured the grape and the juice squirted into her mouth! Oh, my! We should all have such bliss in our lives.

We had horses while I was growing up. I had riding lessons when I was five and I went from there. When I was in my teens I was breeding and showing horses, mostly Quarter Horses, but I worked with Arabs as well for a while.

Mom said Josie won the “kitty lottery” when I adopted her, but I think it was me who was the lucky one.

If you click on my blue name and then go to my pictures, you can see both of them. Josie is mostly white with a calico tail and spots on her head and back. She is the one in the bag, on the pillow, and curled up in a perfectly-round ball.

Peggy is also calico, but has more “traditional” calico markings. She is the one on the back of the couch and in the closet floor.

Josie used to think that whatever I was eating, she should get a bite of. Of course, she got it and I later blamed myself for her developing diabetes. After she was diagnosed, people food was a very rare treat.

Peggy loved the “Pounce” treats that came in a can. All you had to do was shake the can and she’d come running. Like William, she would stand on her hind feet and reach above her head for a treat. You could also throw one across the room and she’d chase after it.

I think cats are alot smarter than they’re given credit for. Alot of people think dogs are so smart because they do tricks. Well, cats are smarter because they teach US instead of US teaching THEM!

I imagine we humans can be pretty hard to train sometimes.

Josie was a big girl, but very laid-back. She was the epitome of mellow. She loved everybody and you could touch any part of her without getting fussed at.

The family cat, Peggy, was the opposite. She was small in size but made up for it in cattitood! There were only certain people she would tolerate and thank goodness I was on that list. One day, however, she hissed at me and I hissed back at her. You should’ve seen the look of surprise on her face! It was priceless. Oh, and if you tried to touch her tail, toes or belly, she’d threaten to rip you a new one!

Josie was diabetic and had been for 6 years. When we had to have her put down, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the entire vet clinic. She had been a patient there for 4 years and they’d really gotten to know her.

The vet commended me on how well I took care of her and how proactive I was when it came to treating her diabetes.

Personally, I felt very honored that God entrusted one of His creatures to my care and took that responsibility very seriously.

She is the bossy one. She is the one who ignores people. William will tell you to f*** off, but she will ignore you loudly and pointedly. If you looked in the dictionary you would see her picture under the entry for annoyed. SHe has the look patented. LOL

The third was Dame Patches the Enigmatic. *smile* She was my son’s kitty and she was the runt of the litter. She and my son were very close.We had to put her down last May b/c her immune system didn’t recognize that her skin and her fur belonged to her. She was shy and beautiful, all black with a white spot on her chest and another between her hind legs. She loved chocolate pudding and oreo cooky crumbs. She would dig crumbs out of the easy chair where Kitty Daddy would snack. We miss her a lot. We had her cremated and kept her ashes.

Yeah, having kitties around does help. Before I lost my Josie in May 2008, she was my constant companion for over 13 years. We went through EVERYTHING together and even though everything else changed, we were each other’s “constant”.

So, tell me about William and Katherine. What do they look like? How old are they?

It’s not hard when Kitteh Daddy is with me.,, When he’s in the hospital, we are both so alone. It’s hard. *small smile* It’s a little easier for me, I think, b/c I have our kittys, William and Katherine, to sit in my lap and to make me laugh. And I have Cheezburger.

So, what can be done for your hubby? What triggered this last attack?

I don’t know what you do, but the way I handle stuff is to get “absorbed” in all the information I can. That way, I feel a little better about what’s next and can ask somewhat-intelligent questions.

We don’t know how this new development will affect him. That’s the worse part about it. The not knowing.

How will this affect his ability to breathe? Does he have the attacks often, or are they just very severe when they happen?

I don’t know alot about asthma. My uncle had it when he was a kid, and mom said it was pretty bad then but he doesn’t have attacks now. My BFF has it, but I think it’s controlled by medicine and inhalers.

I can’t imagine not being able to breathe. It must be a horrible feeling.
