Yes, it is moderated. Last week, a couple of people were interested in charities in this part of the world, and I mentioned one each in India, Afghanistan, Pakistan. My response was in two consecutive posts on the same thread. One thread contained links to each of the charities. The replies appeared at first, but were apparently soon taken off. I figured someone at ICHC might fear I could be plugging some shady racket with extremist links or something (I wouldn’t!), so I just let it slide. Or maybe ICHC just doesn’t want anyone promoting anything at all if it’s not an ad, even if it’s not for profit. Whatever it is, it does seem as though someone’s monitoring and moderating.

I agree we need to do a little self-editing sometimes, but generally this site is pretty tame, and pretty friendly, compared to a lot of other places on the web. Just my $0.02USD.

I want to stick in my opinion, and it’s like 2w2b2s. We should not be writing, joking, captioning, commenting, etc. at the level of 6-10 year olds, even though some of them may pass through. I think of our comments as PG13 (that’s a US film rating index, means “parental guidance for 13 year olds” … that is, there may be things that a parent should be prepared to provide guidance to their 13 year old child about).
