I’m so sorry, your cat might have stomach cancer. That’s what my dog Perry went through just before he died in 2004, he kept throwing up, again and again, once I even saw him throw up blood, I know he did more than once because I found bloody vomit in my house.I think you should take your cat to your vet to see what is wrong with him.

FWIW, I haven’t ever heard of anything re: clumping litter. I’m pretty sure vets would tell pet owners if it could be a problem. Have you tried looking online for anything about clumping litter?

I would say if it has been more then once or twice, and it hasn’t resolved, it might be time for a trip to the V-E-T. Or at the very least, a phone call.
Any chance he could have swallowed something like string, tinsel or part of a toy?
.
BTW, caretroll sez: if your cat does swallow string, as mentioned in an earlier thread, and you find “evidence” of it coming out the back end — DO NOT PULL ON IT. If it’s a long enough piece, it can be tangled in the intestinal tract and trying to pull it out the back end can cause a lot of damage.

Ohai cheezfrens

Im gonna write this without much lolspeak, just because I dont want folks to have to work hard at reading what I am asking.

My Buddy babbeh is having a really difficult time with throwing up. So much so, that he is bringing up blood. This has happened off and on before, so I’m not wigging out completely, and I am doing what the V-E-T has recommended in the past. Usually this happens when he has brought up a large hairball, and he strained himself getting it out. I’ve given him a kitty sized pepcid ac, and that seemed to help some, but not enough.
.
I’ve tried giving him petromalt in an attempt to help him get rid of whatever is ailing him, and he rather complains that his tummy hurts when I pet him. He is a maine coon mix, so he is pretty floofy… he seems pretty solid there in his tummy, and I am not sure if its his normal tummy or if theres some sort of blockage, or CC forbid, growth…
.
He is using the litter box–it doesn’t appear that its an obvious blockage; although his poopies are a bit more “fragrant”, but that sort of goes along with his not feeling so gud.
.
He is an indoor cat, so I dont think he could have “caught” something from outside. I keep kibble down for him (he’s a wierd cat, and doesnt care much for gushifoods.)
.
Is it possible that he is having a problem with “clumping litter”?

Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?
